late autumn days

November started off with lovely bright blue skies.

It does seems to be disappearing just as speedily as all the other months of this year though.

There were days when the garden looked like it was the middle of summer.

There have been a few frosts though and as a result most flowers have definitely finished for this year….however there are, unbelievably, still some roses.

I’m still knitting for the little person in my life, frosty days required little mittens……

……another little hat!

And some recent happy mail brought yarn for a mini Christmas jumper which is a queue behind a cardie to match the above hat and a Christmas pudding hat!!

I also have finished up some festive animals.

This is Fallow my first ever fawn, who is happily wearing a faux fur collar to keep her warm.

This little arctic fox with a flurry of snowflakes has of course been named Flurry.

Marzipan is sweet toothed, sugar loving Christmas mouse.

And the final girl with all her sparkly stars is Twinkle.

All these girls will be listed in my Etsy shop on Wednesday 16th November at 9pm (GMT), more info about them can be found here.

My Hb and I have a little trip coming up, somewhere we have never been before….Rome, so we’re looking forward to that.

Thanks as always for visiting and for taking the time to leave your lovely comments, I do appreciate it, ‘see’ you soon! 🙂

lovely october

What a lovely month October has been, certainly around these parts anyway!

The garden is beginning to close down now but the hydrangeas are still looking good, nothing fades quite as beautifully as a hydrangea.

This is just a little selection of what has been in bloom during the month, the good weather definitely has prolonged the summer flowers.

At the moment I still have lots of nasturiums and cosmos in bloom and I even have some roses.

However despite the tailends of summer still being apparent it is getting very autumnal.

And as its the time of year for pumpkins, a certain little pumpkin of mine required a pumpkin hat!

I finished another little cardie for her as well, pictured above with a bunny cardie, which makes it look big but it really isn’t. 🙂

I have some more little autumn animals ready for my shop too.

First up is Beech the bear, named of course after one of our beautiful native trees.

This little hare is Hawley named after a variety of apple.

Meet Chanterelle, a mushroom girl has to have a mushroom name.

And finally this little acorn and squirrel loving girl is Oakleigh!

All these girls will be listed in my Etsy shop on Wednesday 26th October at 9pm (BST).

More information about my animals can be found here.

So another month is coming to an end and so, sadly, is British Summer Time with the clocks ‘falling back’ at the weekend, an extra hour in bed but darker evenings unfortunately.

However on the plus side my boy is home this weekend for a few days and the family will be altogether for some Halloween fun.

Thanks as always for dropping by and wishing you all a fun Halloween! 🎃

Well according to the GRD calendar we are now well into autumn but what a beautiful autumn it has been so far.

The weather has been amazing with lots of lovely autumn sunshine.

I still have many lovely flowers in bloom in my garden.

Of course with autumn there are plenty of fallen leaves to be raked up, this bagful was waiting to be composted but a certain Mr RJ decided they would make a cosy bed.

I haven’t posted about it for a while but we are still enjoying our lovely local park, it was looking particularly pretty in its autumn colours this past weekend.

As the weather is so good we have been enjoying a few days out and about…this is Helen’s Tower in Co Down.

The clear skies mean chillier evenings and its the time of year for knitting by the fire…..I’ve been making some things for Amelie including this cosy Wowligan cardie………….

…………..and a hat to keep those little ears warm.

And back to the title of my post, a few weeks back I was asked to join the Showcase Handmade UK group on Facebook. The group hold showcases every few weeks on their Facebook page.

So this is Incy my first entry and she will be appearing in the Hunters Moon Showcase on Thursday 13th October at 8pm, more details can be found by clicking on the link.

Incy has of course has been named after Incy Wincy Spider and she comes complete with her own white pumpkin.

Please do check out the showcase as it contains lots of lovely autumn, harvest, halloween inspired makes.

Its another beautiful day here…long, long may it last.

Thanks as always for dropping by! 🙂
