lovely october

What a lovely month October has been, certainly around these parts anyway!

The garden is beginning to close down now but the hydrangeas are still looking good, nothing fades quite as beautifully as a hydrangea.

This is just a little selection of what has been in bloom during the month, the good weather definitely has prolonged the summer flowers.

At the moment I still have lots of nasturiums and cosmos in bloom and I even have some roses.

However despite the tailends of summer still being apparent it is getting very autumnal.

And as its the time of year for pumpkins, a certain little pumpkin of mine required a pumpkin hat!

I finished another little cardie for her as well, pictured above with a bunny cardie, which makes it look big but it really isn’t. 🙂

I have some more little autumn animals ready for my shop too.

First up is Beech the bear, named of course after one of our beautiful native trees.

This little hare is Hawley named after a variety of apple.

Meet Chanterelle, a mushroom girl has to have a mushroom name.

And finally this little acorn and squirrel loving girl is Oakleigh!

All these girls will be listed in my Etsy shop on Wednesday 26th October at 9pm (BST).

More information about my animals can be found here.

So another month is coming to an end and so, sadly, is British Summer Time with the clocks ‘falling back’ at the weekend, an extra hour in bed but darker evenings unfortunately.

However on the plus side my boy is home this weekend for a few days and the family will be altogether for some Halloween fun.

Thanks as always for dropping by and wishing you all a fun Halloween! 🎃

summer days

It is extremely hard to believe that we are half way through August, I am convinced that a week is much shorter now than it used to be!!

It is also extremely hard to believe that despite the title of this post that it is actually summer, certainly up here in the northern parts of the UK there has been a distinct lack of sunshine.

The garden has suffered as a result of the poor weather, my tomatoes are plentiful but still green and the rain has only encouraged more slugs and snails who have helped themselves to quite a lot of things including all my courgettes!

This is my first sweet pea and it only bloomed last week and I’m still waiting on my pink cosmos!!

Despite the weather we have still tried to get out and about and we enjoyed a lovely trip to the seaside to watch an air display.

Making so far this month has included a crocheted blanket for a new baby girl…..

…..and the beginnings of a new cardi for my little princess.

Bay Collage

My animals this month include Bay the little blue bear, who is a seaside, sailing sort of girl.

A little red and white check girl called Gingham.

Eglantina Collage

Eglantina whose name means ‘wild rose’.

And finally Thistle!

All four of these girls will be listed in my Etsy shop on Monday 15th August at 9pm (BST).

More information about them can be found here.

Apologies to those of you who have signed up to my newsletter and have received and read all this information already.

A big thank you to those of you who do receive my newsletter, MailChimp who manages my newsletter keep me well informed of who you are and when you receive it, open it and read it, I know that all sounds a bit like ‘big brother’ but if you are considering a newsletter they are very efficient.

Thanks as always for dropping by and for taking the time to read and comment, it is much appreciated!

Wishing you all a good week, fingers crossed for some sunshine to ripen those tomatoes. 🙂

april days

April has meant more time in the garden in between the showers that is!

It is lovely to see the cherry in bloom again.

Nothing quite like a blossom and blue sky pic!

The evening light is great too at this time of year.

So nice to get the longer evenings back.

The borders continue to come life……the daffodils are almost over, just a few left now.

The tulips however are coming into their own.

There have been fritillaries……

……..of all colours!

It is lovely watching the garden change and grow at this time of year.

April has also included some animal making too.

This is Iris with her iris patterned dress and button.

Little Bubbles the bear has lots of bubbles all over her dress.

Happy is just that…..a happy little hare!

This is Leaf, who is celebrating all the new fresh green leaves.

Flower…the little springtime fox.

And finally this Aya, her Hebrew name means ‘bird’ and with all her bird boxes she is definitely a bird lover.

I will be listing all six animals in my Etsy shop on Wednesday 27th April at 9pm (BST). Please remember they are collectible items only and are not suitable for children under 14 years. More information on them can be found here.

It’s really hard to believe another month is coming to end, slow down please 2016!

Thank you so much for all you comments on my last post.

Have a lovely week! 🙂
