high days & holidays

end of year

Hi everyone it has been a while since I’ve been here!

It seems so much has changed in the past couple of months, November still had quite a bit of colour in the garden…….

…….and then December brought the snow, it was lovely however to see the little bulbs pushing through!

In recent days though it has become quite mild again.

There has been some knitting for the little person in my life over the last few weeks…….

…….a little person who is just beginning to realise the magic of Christmas!

There has been lots of festive animal making too.

They have all now been posted off to their new homes and I am so grateful for all the support given to GRD this year.

I made 55 little girls during 2017 and I finished off with a little bunny called Yule who was my 350th animal!

Today is the Winter Solstice and one of my favourite days of the year because today the light begins to return and that is such a lovely thought.

And according to the GRD calendar it’s only 10 days to Pre-Spring…..wonderful!!!

In the meantime though there has been lots of Christmas preparation going on and it will be lovely to celebrate the day with my family around me.

I would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas with those you love!

Happy Christmas! 🎄

Still lovely to see some colour in the garden at this late stage of the year.

In fact October was quite colourful….until Hurricane Ophelia arrived and wiped out most of it!

Just a few leaves hanging on now as another month passes.

Weather wise the month was on the whole, with the exception of Ophelia, pretty good and we had a lovely day out at the coast where the changing light was amazing.

On the making front, I managed two hats and gilet for my granddaughter and I also made a little Halloween project bag and a matching pumpkin from the lovely Helen’s book, Modern Vintage Gifts.

And of course there were some little creatures too.

Thank you so much to all you lovely people who stop by here and take the time to leave me a comment, I really do appreciate it!

As it’s Halloween, I’ll leave you with a pic of a certain little person choosing her pumpkin! 🙂

Happy Halloween 🎃

autumn’s here

So yet another month has come and gone…..had September really 30 days this year, it seemed like less!!

The garden still put on a show during the month.

However slipping into October has brought a more autumnal look.

September brought another year!

Thank goodness for cake to soften the blow. 😉

As we both have birthdays at this time of year and as September is also our wedding anniversary month we always like to take a little trip.

This year we had a lovely long weekend in Bristol and Bath.

We had a lovely time in these two great cities.

As you can imagine there wasn’t much time for crafting this month but I did manage to finish four little creatures for my shop.

One more little girl who I have finished is Laurel…..who is a giveaway girl over on Instagram at the moment, so if you’re on IG and would like a chance of winning her, pop over there and enter.

I’m changing the way I list my animals, from now on instead of listing them in a group I’m just going to list them as they’re made and I’ll pop a post on Instagram to let everyone know when they’re in the shop.

So here we are in October and even I have to give in to it being autumn, the seasons have definitely changed!

Happy October and Happy Autumn! 🍂 🍁 🍂
