october

Still lovely to see some colour in the garden at this late stage of the year.

In fact October was quite colourful….until Hurricane Ophelia arrived and wiped out most of it!

Just a few leaves hanging on now as another month passes.

Weather wise the month was on the whole, with the exception of Ophelia, pretty good and we had a lovely day out at the coast where the changing light was amazing.

On the making front, I managed two hats and gilet for my granddaughter and I also made a little Halloween project bag and a matching pumpkin from the lovely Helen’s book, Modern Vintage Gifts.

And of course there were some little creatures too.

Thank you so much to all you lovely people who stop by here and take the time to leave me a comment, I really do appreciate it!

As it’s Halloween, I’ll leave you with a pic of a certain little person choosing her pumpkin! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Halloween 🎃

autumn’s here

So yet another month has come and gone…..had September really 30 days this year, it seemed like less!!

The garden still put on a show during the month.

However slipping into October has brought a more autumnal look.

September brought another year!

Thank goodness for cake to soften the blow. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As we both have birthdays at this time of year and as September is also our wedding anniversary month we always like to take a little trip.

This year we had a lovely long weekend in Bristol and Bath.

We had a lovely time in these two great cities.

As you can imagine there wasn’t much time for crafting this month but I did manage to finish four little creatures for my shop.

One more little girl who I have finished is Laurel…..who is a giveaway girl over on Instagram at the moment, so if you’re on IG and would like a chance of winning her, pop over there and enter.

I’m changing the way I list my animals, from now on instead of listing them in a group I’m just going to list them as they’re made and I’ll pop a post on Instagram to let everyone know when they’re in the shop.

So here we are in October and even I have to give in to it being autumn, the seasons have definitely changed!

Happy October and Happy Autumn! 🍂 🍁 🍂

august

I know I always say it but I really can’t believe I’m back with another round up of the month…..time goes so quickly!!

The garden continues to bloom…..

…..and produce lots of tomatoes!

Which I’m quickly turning into homemade tomato sauce and what we don’t eat now is being frozen for pasta, soups etc…..nothing like the taste of summer in winter.

I also managed to to get a pic of our garden visitor, one of them anyway, there are two as I have seen them together.

On Saturday 5th August I had a lovely day out at Yarnfolk, Northern Ireland’s first yarn festival, it was brilliant!

There were so many tempting yarns and of course some were purchased (see middle pic, bottom row in above collage) ! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I really hope this event will be an annual occurrence!

The yarn festival was held in Whitehead, Co Antrim so it was lovely to spend some time at the coast too.

It was such a lovely clear day, so much so that we could see Scotland!

On the crafting front I have been continuing on with my Free Your Fade shawl by Andrea Mowry.

I have also made a quilt!!

It has been on my to-do list for such a long time and I have eventually got round to doing it.

It’s not a huge one, it’s for my granddaughter’s teepee but I’m quite pleased with myself. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s by no means perfect but I must admit I was pretty pleased with my corners! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I also crocheted a little cushion to match.

There was another little cardie for Amelie this month!

And I also finished her little pink aran sweater too!

And of course there were some new little creatures as well…..all now in their new homes.

We had a lovely family day on the 27th of the month when my HB celebrated a special birthday!

My son was home from Berlin and we were all together to celebrate…..and Amelie loved the balloon.

So that was August…..there’s still another month of summer according to the GRD calendar, so let’s not panic or make any mention of any of those other seasons just yet!!

Happy September. ๐Ÿ™‚
