My post today is a bit like an episode of Sesame Street, as it’s brought to you by the colour orange.

It’s another dull start to the week so I’ve been seeking out a little cheering colour and there is none more cheerful than the colour orange.

I have mentioned before how much I love orange flowers in the garden and there are still a few out there shining like little jewels. The weather has been so mild with no frost yet at all so the nasturtiums are still blooming their little hearts out and my window boxes are doing well too!

I also have a lovely bunch of peachy orange peruvian lilies on my dining room table, I do love fresh flowers in the house at all times.

The contents of my craft basket have an orangey tint at the moment and my long time work-in-progress autumn blanket also has its hint of orange (really must finish it)!

Even part of my lunch is orange today, I didn’t need the spoon to eat the orange, it’s part of a set that I brought back from France and I just thought it looked good, artistic license!!! 😉

I’m actually wearing an orange scarf today as well but sorry no selfies!

It’s only 34 days until the shortest day and 45 days until pre-spring, the brighter days are coming and I’m just doing what I can to get myself there!

Have a great week! 🙂

Hello from across the pond! Your comments about the color orange made me smile. I have most recently added a lot of orange to my wardrobe. This past summer it seemed like in every family photo that was taken, I was wearing an orange top. Orange just energizes the spirit. I also love the photo tease of little bunny legs and feet. The granny blocks look very pretty, hope to see a beautiful blanket one day. I’m working on a “wave” afghan in denim and soft spring colors. It’s pulling me through these chilly damp days.

What a lovely, brighten-a-dull-day post! Lovely orange all around you, and the spoon was just a perfect touch 😉

I wish you a bright and SUNNIER week, we need it here too!

Your orange post has brightened a very dull day Vivienne. It barely got light here, mind you it made it easier being at work! Good to see a few flowers still braving it out in your garden. Keep warm in your orange scarf my dear xx

I love all of these photos but especially the last one with the orange slices; they look perfect on that plate and the green edging brings out their color. I never liked orange until recently, but it’s growing on me. I definitely see room for orange in all of my crafty work now. 🙂

Love the colour Orange – it’s so zingy :0)
It must be the colour of the week – my next door neighbour popped round to see me yesterday with a bunch of orange roses and lilies. They really lifted my spirits, especially on such a dull, damp, cold day.
Hope all’s well with you, Vivienne.

Hi V, you’re right, orange is just such a zesty and alive colour. A bit like sprouts, I never used to like it / them when I was young but I do like a splash of an orange scarf or jumper now. And sprouts! Roll on pre Spring 🙂

What a wonderfully cheering post.

The design on your vintage plate is one of my fabourites … and now, I’m off to track down an orange, the sight of yours, all neatly quartered, has me craving one.
