August already, way too quickly for my liking. Even four days in it has brought both sunshine and showers and there was a feeling in the air early this morning that made my heart sink a bit, I don’t like what’s around the corner!! Thankfully though the sun came out and it felt like summer again. There are daily pickings of sweet peas and tomatoes, truth be told most of the latter don’t make the walk in from the garden. There are bees and butterflies aplenty, unfurling flowers and lazy cats.
Take your time August!

Time is flying by Vivienne…enjoy lots of sunny August days in your garden. We may even get an Indian summer…fingers crossed. Beautiful photos and yes it’s a great life for a cat…Billy is lying in a sunbeam as I type ;0) Happy week my dear xx
Aaaahhh!!! You have a cat the same colour as mine and she loves to lay out in the sun Just lazing about as well x happy August x
Boring if we were all the same, but I find it intriguing that people can have such different seasonal preferences. I have nothing against August as long as it’s not too hot, but I’m already looking forwards to September!
Yes indeed August already, not looking forward to September, back to the school routine!. Your photography is beautiful.
I know what you mean – there was an apricot glow to the rose hedge this morning and there are already hundreds of big fat red rosehips which can mean only one thing!
Summer things give me a smile. Vos images de l’été m’on donné l’envie de sourire à mon écran. Merci
Lucie
How come we only have green tomatoes?
Hello Vivienne,
I know exactly the sinking feeling that hits you when you smell the autumn in the air first time after summer. I am sure the time hasn’t arrived yet, not at yours or here. Sunny August is ahead us and that will be followed by warm and pretty September – you get the idea ;)?
Happy week, dear friend, and kiss that handsome cat for me, please!
Yours,
Mia
oh beautiful pictures and hope your august will be as pleasant as it might be ! HAve some nice sunny days ! take care ! xx
I think last years wet and mild winter brought on everything early. I even have blackberries and plums ripe and ready in my garden! I like the colour of your sweet peas Vivienne – very unusual. Lovely black and white kitty -wanna swap for a ginger?!!! x
Sweet peas look so good I could pick them up and smell them. Beautiful cat that shows us how to relax, cleaver pussy cat. I would love to walk in your garden Vivienne. I do love your photos. Love & Blessings. Elizabeth x x
gorgeous flowers, and your cat looks very relaxed there. Not a care in the world. T x
Like you, I feel as though summer is disappearing way too fast. I love that little fuzzy bewhiskered face, so cute:-)
I’ve been thinking for about a week now that it’s changing already, and very quickly. The mornings are cooler and the sun is setting noticeably earlier every day. We will make the most of these last weeks!
I know what you mean Vivienne. I can feel the change in the air too and see it in the garden. Autumn is slowly making it’s entrance. Nevertheless, it’s a beautiful time of year as well! Love those crisp and sunny autumn days.

Hola, son unas fotos muy bonitas de tu jardín. Feliz agosto para ti.
besos
It’s going too quickly for me too Vivienne. This is my month off from teaching, a time to catch up on all those things I don’t get done usually and already we are a week in and barely started. August is always a funny month – still very much summer but like you say, all too aware of what’s round the corner. Trying to enjoy it while I can!
Hello Vivienne I love your August post….and you are right, the summer is flying by way too fast!! All your pictures are so colourful, and your flowers are lovely.
Happy weekend!
