Over the past few weeks I have been taking some photographs of the autumn colours appearing in the countryside and in my garden, when the weather has been behaving itself that is!
Looking through them it seems that it hasn’t been all rain, must have just seemed that way or else I took most of my photos over a period of two days, which may have been the case.
There is no doubt about the beautiful colours that autumn sends our way.
The trees, leaves, berries and shrubs are such pretty shades of the season.
Beauty to be found in the simplest of things.
Rusty orange, red, brown, green, mustard, yellow, purple, taupe. Most of my favoutite colours (with the exception of duck egg blue that is) are autumn shades, perhaps I really am an earthy autumn girl, mmmm not sure about that, earthy yes but I do like my summer sunshine!
Celebrate Colour is all about being inspired by the colours of the autumn season and using them in all manner of crafts. It is the brilliant idea of Emma Lamb, Wild Olive and luvinthemommyhood. They want everyone to share their autumn inspired crafts and there are lots of lovely prizes to be won too. Click on the photo for lots more information.
And inspired I have been, I’ve spent this week crocheting little bits and pieces in autumnal colours which will eventually become corsages, with the exception of the toadstool which might look a little odd!
I have enjoyed working with these colours and matching them up with pretty beads and buttons.
Just have to attach flowers to leaves etc and make a few corsages, I have to say though I do quite like them all displayed like this, so much so that I don’t want to touch them!!
Hope you’re being inspired by the season too!
It’s actually not raining here today although a little sunshine wouldn’t go amiss.
Thanks as always for visiting, enjoy the rest of the week and I hope the weekend ahead is a good one for you all! 🙂

It isn’t raining here – but it’s so very cold. Time to light the fire I think.

Lovely photos and autumnal colours. I love earthy tones and the colours of nature. I think your crochet makes a wonderful seasonal table display! A nature table in crochet!!! x
That toadstool is the sweetest thing Vivienne! I love how you are using buttons for the centres of your corsage flowers too, they look so good!! I seem to have skipped Autumn here actually, working on more Christmas and spring projects today 🙂 Wishing you a sunny rest of the week xxx
Vivienne, please don’t laugh at me but this post has almost brought tears of joy to my eyes. I (like many) adore colour and any thematic approach to it. Your creations are truly beautiful as inspired by Mother Nature.
Thank you.
Absolutely gorgeous pictures of the autumn shades you have found Vivienne! And the little toadstool is soooo adorable!! You make such lovely things. Have a happy rest of the week, and enjoy your autumn days.

Autumn is my favorite season. This is such a lovely post with all the colors. Thank you for sharing.
I just knew that duck egg blue would creep in there somewhere Vivienne – LOL! What lovely inspiring photos you have taken for autumm. I love all our season’s (but you well know my favourite time of year ;0) – I just dislike the lack of daylight in late autumn and winter. Your crochet pieces are fab and that little toadstool is perfect, great idea to use buttons for the spots. I also spied that duck egg blue corsage, well it just had to be included there didn’t it ..brilliant! Enjoy the nearly weekend and hope you get some sunshine.

Cutest mushie EVER! And I don’t know what that plant is in the very first picture, but I want to be one of those when I grow up! haha
Preciosas flores¡¡¡ tienes razón que los colores de otoño son preciosos.
Those autumn photos are great, there’s so much warm colour and texture. I love what you’ve been making, luscious leaves and a magic mushroom! Sorry toadstool, it’s just so cute.
What a damp, grey week it’s been, am I the only one without my central heating on yet? Trying to hold out til the end of Oct!
Hope we see a glimmer of sunshine during the weekend, have fun Vivienne x
great colours, beautiful crochet
So much loveliness here Vivienne as always…I do love all those earthy, autumnal shades…they are so inspiring…and it is great fun to make corsages and add pretty beads, isn’t it?..
Wishing you a great weekend,

P.S Congratulations again on winning our giveaway….your little marmalade jar will be in the post later!
Truly lovely autumn colours … and I just adore your crochet all laid out like that. it looks like a fall of autumn leaves!
Beautiful crochet and the colours are so very right for this time of year. I’ll admit to being a little jealous of your rain as we still haven’t had any and I’m very bored of trying to keep what’s left in my veg patch alive. Be careful what you wish for? isn’t that the saying – ha – no doubt it’ll pour down now.
Hope you have some more winter sun (my very favourite) in amongst the sogginess. Bethx

Oh, the fairy toadstool is beyond charming! How marvelous!
Everyone seems to love the toadstool, and so do I. It would make a charming pincushion. I love the colours of autumn too – the soft muted tones as well as the vibrant ones. Beautiful photos.
Quite a lovely collection!
