This week I finished my five autumn bunnies, they hopped out of my Etsy shop last night in ten minutes flat, much to my amazement!!
I was delighted of course, it’s always a scary thing wondering if anyone will want them, if I have got the price right. Pricing…now there’s minefield, are they too expensive, well obviously not as they all sold. Am I charging enough, when I price my materials, Paypal and Etsy fees and my time, well probably not. I’m really thinking out loud here and I would value the thoughts of all you creative makers and sellers out there and buyers too!
It is lovely that people do want them but the real pleasure for me is making them. I have been asked if I do custom orders but the fun for me is making them who they are, choosing their names and clothes, I’m a control freak really but I do like to make them to my own ideas.
Anyhow they all have new homes to go to now and I have started on a new lot of Christmas (there I said it)/ winter bunnies.
I have spent today wrapping and tying and labelling, to get them all on their way.
Thanks as always for your visits and for ‘listening’ to me and for all your lovely comments…wishing you all a very lovely weekend…and bye-bye to British Summer Time, I look forward to it’s return! 🙂

hi, you have been very industrious. Love all the Autumn girls but I think Willow has to be my favourite.
Awww Vivienne what gorgeous autumn girls. My favourite is amber. I’m not surprised they were snapped up so quickly your bunnies are beautiful. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the extra hour in bed xx
Just so lovely all of them I find it hard to choose
Hi Vivienne, The autumn girls went so fast, I didn’t even get a chance to see the in your shop and I was waiting too. They are beauties. I don’t thing we crafters really charge enough, but we want to sale them, so that is always the dilemma. (Like you expressed) It’s so nice to make them for your enjoyment and I think your fabric, buttons, and colors are just so well done.
Enjoy your weekend, xoRobin
Hi Vivienne I enjoy your bunnies so much they are special because of you. Have a lovely weekend. Elizabeth x x
I am just amazed at how each one has her own personality, and the little details, like the dress fabrics, the buttons, the bows, all lend themselves to making each one individually beautiful. But the most special aspect is your joy in making them, I think that shines through in their personalities! Chrissie x
Your autumn girls are all so sweet, I love the colours you chose for each one! You do seem inspired, and the joy of making shines through! So glad they all found new homes so quickly…..am not surprised!
Wishing you a happy weekend.

Of course they flew out of your shop in 10 mins, they’re beautiful, well made and one of a kind. I loved Green Rabbit Designs Autumn 2013 Collection, and can’t wait to see what designs you’ve got planned for your Christmas bunnies. It was a great idea of yours to mention the little ladies individually on your FB page first, before offering them in your shop. I think everyone appreciated the ‘heads up’ of when they were going to be available to purchase. Though I can imagine that there were a lot of poised fingers over keypads waiting to hit the buy button :0) And, quite a few disappointed folk who weren’t successful in buying one.
The rain has returned :0( And, we’re off to visit Warwick Castle tomorrow. Must remember my wellies :0)
Wishing you a wonderful weekend. xxxxx
I love seeing you be so successful with your crafts, Vivienne! Your bunnies are really sweet. Do make sure you are not just charging for your fees and materials, though, please, but that you are getting paid for your work! I think all of us makers are responsible for each other in that we don’t undercharge. xo Karen
I love all your bunnies Vivienne! Pricing is something I have difficulty with too. I was told that you should charge what you want for your goods. If someone wants it they will buy regardeless of the price. You also have to bear in mind where you are selling e.g people don’t expect to pay much at a school fair but you could charge a premium say at the Country Living fair or on etsy. I would like to see you do a couple of specials a year say a really big bunny and her bunny children or some tiny hand sized bunnies. They could be limited editions and you could charge a high end price because of the exclusivity. Would still like to see a boy bunny too! If I had your talent I would be exploiting it to its full potential! I love to see how your fan base and buyers has grown. You are an inspiration to me Vivienne! x
Hi Vivienne, These autumn bunnies have cheered up many cold days lately.
I’m sure they will be well loved!! ((We had some visitors that afternoon, I couldn’t check your shop. But that’s all right)). Eager to see your winter/Christmas girls.
Have an enjoyable weekend, dear Vivienne,
Anne xx

Such lovely bunnies! No wonder they found new home in a jiffy.
Hi Vivienne, I’m not surprised they hopped off so quickly as they are fab and I’m with you on the custom order thing, I don’t do them either as I need to work on things I feel like, I find working to order quite stressful to be honest. Pricing is always such a tricky thing, I find it so difficult to balance myself, I’m not sure I can offer a advice in knitting as I don’t really have a concept of how long it takes, but I’m pretty sure you could put your price up and it would still be more than reasonable. Bxx
Gosh you’ve been working hard! They’re all gorgeous, but I think Willow’s the girl for me, or she would have been if she wasn’t already sold!
I have struggled with pricing in the past too … I think most crafters under price but then so many folk don’t value handmade as they should, it’s a tricky one.,
Wow Vivienne! It’s bunny heaven! Now how can I possibly choose a favourite……I can’t so they are ALL my favourites.
No wonder they all sold within minutes. They are one of a kind and therefore very collectible.
You’ll be needing to take on staff soon 🙂
Happy weekend,
Margaret x
Hola, son todas tan bonitas que no me extraña que te las quiten de las manos. Felicidades.
besos
They are all adorable. I love the little cardigans! It is so difficult to price handmade items, people don’t really take your time into account do they 🙁
Good evening Vivienne!…You work is absolutely beautiful and your bunnies are made with so much love and care. I do think hand crafted items are appreciated as special and unique these days (finally!)…I’m guessing you’re definitely under charging for all the hours of work that would be involved, materials and sellers’ fees (and you know I love them all!)
Happy New Week,
Susan x
as always they are all gorgeous

You almost certainly underprice as I think we all do. It’s such a fine balance between getting a fair price and actually selling the item. Willow is my favourite!
Your work is outstanding in every way and should command a higher price, but I certainly understand that that could limit those who could buy. The suggestion of some special editions bunny girls (or boys) is a good way to have some that are at a higher price. Your girls fly out the door because they are exceptional and so much fun everyone would love having one or two : )

Hi V, these bunnies are lovely. I like Willows different cardy with the collar. I look at the bunnies and think I’d like to wear that cardy and skirt, in particular Sorrel and Hazel grab my attention today.
I’m going through that pricing issue today, we all know we never charge enough for the work that goes into it. I’m taking new stuff to a gallery today and I’m still debating the prices.
See how you feel about reviewing your prices at the start of a new year when you can assess the previous years success. x
They all make my heart sing! I love the subdued colours of Willow, who’d have thought! 😉 xx
Autumn is my favorite time of year I just love all the colours and of course your little girls look fantastic in their autumn dresses. You’re just so clever.
