Autumn Roses

by greenrabbitdesigns

Alas, not real roses but some more crochet ones !!!

I have tried to use some colours to reflect the season. I really enjoy making these little corages especially making the little buttons for the centres.

Hopefully we’ll have some nice autumnal weather for the weekend with NO rain, fingers crossed. Have a lovely one whatever you get up to ! πŸ™‚

Vivienne the corsages are beautiful are they for sale as I would love to buy one for my mother and one for myself. I am only just learning to crochet and its slow progress although I have been knitting since I was a small child.

Hope you have a lovely weekend. Karen X

These are gorgeous Vivienne, such lovely subtle autumny colours. I love the way you’ve photographed them too, they contrast beautifully with the rose hips.

I love your crochet corsages, they are beautifully made. I love the name too – autumn roses, so evocative somehow. How pretty to photograph them with rosehips.

Thank you Helen!
The rosehips weren’t terribly well behaved, I have a few scratches to show for it! However they’re looking very pretty now in a jug in my kitchen.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. πŸ™‚

These roses are just beautiful Vivienne, I love the patterned centres and the gorgeous autumn colours. Great use of props too in the photos :0)

I’m glad to see that you are still getting some autumn sunshine, it’s been pretty horrid here since last Friday. So much rain but at least it’s still quite mild.

Enjoy your autumn, (“c”) is just round the corner!

greenrabbitdesigns October 5, 2010 - 10:54 am

Thanks Jane!
As for the props, I still have scars from the rosehips!!!
It is still beautiful here, bright and sunny! It seems to rain during the night and the days are good, I’m quite happy about that!
I am enjoying the autumn as the weather has been lovely and I’m not even thinking about ‘C’!!!
Have a good day Jane. πŸ™‚

Wow Vivienne …. where do you get your photography inspirations from? I would never have thought to do that! And just the perfect display for your gorgeous Autumn roses.
Thanks for your comments on my blog …. Bella is doing very well and sends you a BIG LICK :0)
We have been “pitching and planting” – conkers! I can’t resist picking them up in the park …. then we go for a walk more remote …. and “pitch a conker …. hope is gets planted” like to think we are planting a forest somewhere! Bella thinks I am pitching for her and runs into the undergrowth to bring it back to me! It can be a slow job this pitching and planting!
Have a lovely day!

Hi Val
Well the rosehips seemed like a good idea but believe you me they fought back!
I’ve never heard of ‘pitching and planting’ but what a really good idea.
Bless Bella, the little sweetie, fetching them back for you! πŸ™‚
Have a lovely evening!
