Well here we are in not only a new week but a new month and a new season! As you all know October marks the beginning of autumn in the Green Rabbit calender.
How did I celebrate the new season ~ by going to the seaside!
My husband had the day off work and we headed to the shores of Belfast Lough, had some lunch and a walk on the beach.
It was breezy and cool but not freezing cold and there was the odd fleeting shower but it soon moved on with the breeze.
This beach is a beachcombers dream with so many shells, stones and my favourite, sea glass.
This is my little bag of treasure from today!
Even though walking the beach and picking up shells seems like a summer pursuit, the signs of the new season are all around.
The leaves are changing colour ………….
and there are berries aplenty.
So my new week, new month and new season has got off to a good start!!
Hope yours has too! 🙂

Lovely post Vivienne – best kind of seaside having the beach all to oneself I think. I love your haul of treasures – I have never yet found sea glass is it only on certain beaches I wonder or is it my eyesight that’s failing! Let’s hope that the new month heralds a wonderful autumn to make up for the missing summer followed by a clear birhgt winter – one can live in hope!
Oooh Vivienne I am so envious of your treasure from the beach….I would be there for hours. Lovely photos of autumn..glad you had a day at the seaside to enjoy it.

Brrrr! It’s starting to get chilly around these parts. Autumn is definitely snuggling up with knitting season.
What do you do with all that sea glass you collect? I’ve seen folks make some beautiful pictures with sea glass.
I must remember to take a photo of my Holly Tree – it’s full of berries at the moment, but the birds will gobble them up in no time.
Best wishes for this new season, Vivienne. xx
Here’s a web address to a guy who makes the beautiful sea glass pictures: http://www.jonathanfuller.co.uk

Oh that seaside walk looks like it was beautiful! Hope your leaves are changing into bright fall colors there as they are here.
Well, why should the beach be just for Summer? Love the photograph of the shells.

A lovely way to celebrate the new month/season Vivienne. I would have loved to have a sort through the shells on the beach. Like Jane, I too have never found sea glass. x
What a lovely day! The seaglass is really lovely – it will remind you of a good day when you look at it.

What a lovely picture show Vivienne. I love the pretty treasures you found on the beach.
I think the summer is my least favourite season for beach walks, the wilds of winter with waves crashing in is best. But I’d collect sea glass in any weather, it’s such lovely stuff!
what gorgeous loot! I much prefer the beach out of season, it’s so lovely to wrap up warm and get the cobwebs blown away.
