Home flowers autumn

Well it’s here, according to the Green Rabbit calendar today is the first day of autumn and it has arrived with a vengeance!!!

It’s no wonder that I like to hang on to summer, it is absolutely horrible outside today, if I had my way it would be spring/summer all year round.

Autumn colours are lovely but let’s face it, it is usually too wet to go out and enjoy them.

I have made some soup to help cheer me up, mushroom today, I think we may well live on soup until spring.

So I’m counting down now, not to ‘C’, no way, no my first countdown is a short one only 4 days until I escape to the south of France for a week away, happy days! Second countdown is 81 days until the winter solstice when things begin to change for the better and my final countdown is 91 days until pre-spring!

This little girl is my last nod to summer, her name is Marguerite, she has a little marguerite daisy button on her cardigan and I like to think that that’s a bunch of marguerite daisies in the bike basket on her skirt!

And finally one of my wonderful sunflowers, I’m really drinking in this colour today!!!!

Have a great rest-of-the-week lovely people and thanks for listening to me moan about autumn, I bet you can’t wait to hear me when winter comes, thank goodness there is only one month of it in the Green Rabbit calendar! 😉

Autumn’s arrived here too. The light has changed, the leaves have started to fall on to the lawn, and lots of berries have suddenly appeared on the Holly tree. I actually quite like this season, it’s January & February time that I find quite depressing. When I don’t feel like leaving the house, or even getting out of bed.
Violet’s off school today due to strike action, so we’ve been busy baking a Victoria Sandwich and some cheese scones – Yummmmmmmm!!!!

I’m burying my head in the sand, Vivienne concerning autumn’s arrival! I’m jolly glad you are off to southern France though and, as I wrote on facebook, your little summery girl is simply beautiful: the perfect tribute to your favourite season 🙂

It’s dull and grey here too but not cold. I quite like the slowing down of autumn and being able to enjoy hot soup and snuggle up in the evenings with some crafting or a good book. I don’t think I’d like it to be spring or summer all the time or I might not appreciate the long light days and the sunshine. Have a great time in France and “bottle” some of the sunshine and blue skies (fingers crossed) for when you get back. Lovely little rabbit.

LOL – And here is the difference! I absolutely LOVE Autumn and Winter. But here in the middle we still get lots of sunny days – they are just cooler, so I suppose that could be the reason. Here’s wishing you a fabulous trip, and lots of sunny (if not warm) days until pre-spring!

Oh Vivienne, you are so funny! I can feel your pain in your writing. I hope you have a wonderful time away and just think that will be one week down to all your other mile stones! Love your newest bunny, fabric is fabulous. You always coordinate the cardi’s and dresses so nicely.
Keep smiling, xoRobin

Oh man, now it must be officially autumn as the GRC announces it too! But but but it’ll be short and sweet with a few crisp mornings and rain only in nigh time, right? Have a lovely break in France soon, dear friend, and be back with a wonderful tan and re-charged batteries!

Happy October!

Yes it is Autumn now Vivienne but you can keep summer in your heart all year long if you want to!!! I am quite happy to have the changes in the season as long as it isn’t too cold and damp! Just think you have a lovely few days away to look forward to and then come back refreshed to face the autumn head on! Marguerite is a lovely bunny and I love the colour of her cardi. Enjoy the rest of the week. x

Oh Vivienne I can really tell today that you are not keen on autumn! I hope the sun shines a bit more before you go off on your trip to sunnier climes! I love all the seasons for their different qualities and atmospheres and have since I was a child, so I never mind autumn arriving, but I can see if you are a real sun lover it can be hard. Your bunny is a very cheery little one and a nice tribute to summer days!
Sending you some bright sunny wishes.

Your latest bunny is very sweet Vivienne!
Wishing you sunshine and happy hols!
