Away Days

by greenrabbitdesigns

Some little applique flowers that I have been crocheting this week, I can’t seem to get away from these colours, I love them! 🙂

It’s a long weekend in the UK this weekend and as it’s my OH’s birthday on the bank holiday Monday and my birthday and our wedding anniversary next month it’s the time of year we like to treat ourselves to a little city break.

So early on Sunday morning we’re taking ourselves off to Edinburgh for a few days and I’m really looking forward to it, Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities. Then when we return we have a family wedding so I’ll probably not be back here until the beginning of September with my tales of Auld Reekie.

How scary is that!!!

Have yourselves a wonderful weekend and if you’re in the UK enjoy your extra day!

‘See’ you soon! 🙂

Have a lovely time in Edinburgh Vivienne. Hope you find a few treasures to bring home.
Your little crochet flowers are very pretty with the felt flower centres.

I love those colors too – reminds me of my favorite places in nature – the forest and the sea – so pretty how you crochet with them.
Hope you have a lovely city break and am looking forward to a photo or two 🙂 I have never been any further north in the UK than London but hopefully someday! Have a safe journey and see you in September! xo Karen

Hi Vivienne….I’m loving all your green inspiration.

Hope you have a lovely birthday & anniversary trip to Edinburgh.

Perhaps some scottish tartan will influence your next sewing project??????

Look forward to hearing about your trip.

It’s my husbands Birthday on Monday too! I have never been to Scotland (or Ireland for that matter) and would love to visit both. I have always liked the look of Edinburgh and intend to visit one day! The flowers are lovely and so are the colours. Have a lovely break. I felt sad when you said you wouldn’t be back here until September and then I realised that September is only a week away. Eeekkkk!!!! See you soon. x

Dear Vivienne,

I am so sorry to be running late in commenting on this pretty post. You are absolutely right; those colours are addictive. I know that I am VERY taken with blues and greens at present which is possibly because of the glorious influence of summer.

I eagerly await the pictures of Edinburgh! I hope you had a fabulous time away.

My husband and I lived near Edinburgh for a year and a half. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about places we went and things we did whilst we were there. Thanks for the pictures and the memories.
