Berries & Cherries

by greenrabbitdesigns

There have been some of these in the garden this summer ……….

there have also been some of these ……….

and last but not least there have been some of these!

Delicious as these summer fruits have been, there really hasn’t been great quantities of them in my garden this year so I have had to supplement the crop with ……….

some of these ………

some of these ………

and some of these !!!

These little corsages are destined for bags which I am still working on but I thought I would share them with you this bank holiday Monday as we still try to enjoy summer!

I’m not a jam maker so knitting and crocheting are my ways of fruit preserving !!! 😉

Happy week everyone. 🙂

And isn’t that just the best way to preserve fruit 😀 I actually don’t eat jam … once you’ve tried fresh raspberries on buttered homemade wholemeal bread sugary jam just loses it’s attraction!

Oh, I adore these! You are so clever! I particularly love the cherries.

Sigh of joy.

ps. Isn’t it fun how our respective posts are on a similar theme and very much in the same colour range? Heart warming.

I loved seeing the fruit from your garden…and then as I scrolled down I got a lovely surprise as I saw the adorable handmade fruits too! You are very clever at making these, Vivienne. They do make lovely decorations for all kinds of things and I love each one.
Have a happy week.

They are great Vivienne, they’ll look lovely on bags but I would also just wear them as a brooch too 🙂 The way you’ve woven in the tiny beads onto the raspberries is really clever, they are adorable! Have a lovely evening xx

Super cute knitted fruits! The raspberry reminds me so much of the small raspberry patch we had when I was growing up. I loved everything about eating the berries – just not the thorns & spiders … 😉 My dad used to make the best raspberry pancakes on the weekend. YUM!

These are just too cute, Viv! You’re so wonderfully talented fruit-maker, both with needles and hooks AND garden 🙂

Have a happy week (it rains here) and hopefully some sunny days!

Vivienne, the crochet fruits are lovely! Who needs jam when you can have those!
They are so sweet, and lucky you having had strawberries, raspberries and cherries! Reminds me of my fav Bonne Maman jam I had for breakfast this morning – that has that mix in and is yummy and scented.
Definite feeling of autumn here, and i must get my camera out and cpature some pics for a long ovedue post.

Vivienne you are so clever, I saw the strawberries on Facebook but now I’ve seen the delicious cherries and the amazing beaded raspberries I’m really not sure which are my favourite! You could embellish so many things with these but they’ll look lovely on your bags,
