Blue & Grey

by greenrabbitdesigns

Blue and grey have been pretty much the colours of the week. One minute the sky was blue then very quickly it turned a deep grey, the heavens open and it poured!!

It’s not just been the ‘bright blue before the storm’ colour of blue either, we have had the dark navy blue of an angry thundery sky too.

It’s no secret how much I love a bright blue sky and sunshine but I also love a thunderstorm! There’s something quite exciting about an electrical storm but when it’s over I like the bright blue sky to come back again. It’s the rain that begins in the morning and stays all day I don’t like.

I think my crochet flowers this week have been influenced by the skies as they all have been blue and grey, the blue being of the thundery kind!

Well here we are at the beginning of another weekend and almost at the end of another month!! Where does it all go to???
It’s been lovely to have you visit this week, have a wonderful blue sky weekend. 🙂

Beautiful! You captured your sky perfectly. We have pretty harsh thunderstorms here this week…now they are predicting sunshine and I couldn’t be happier.

I love your flowers Vivienne, but I don’t like this Summer!
Have a happy weekend 🙂

I’m with harmony and rosie: I love your brooches but this summer just sucks. We have a sunny (but freezing cold) moment as I type this, so I shouldn’t complain that much but it’s just so rare! I wish your weekend is completely blue skied!

I might not like those grey skies but those colours look beautiful as crochet corsages.

Isn’t it funny how us crafters seem to take our inspiration from what’s happening in our little world……………………hope you’ll be crocheting with sunny yellows and pretty sky blues soon.

Another lovely set of crochet corsages Vivienne.
I love the one top left with the pretty variegated yarn and I think it is a button in the centre?
I’m sad for the summer you have been having over there and hope there will be a change for the better soon. Surely it can’t go on forever?

Beautiful corsages, Vivienne! I love all those shades of thundery grey and blue. What lovely sky photos too, no wonder you were inspired in your makes!
Hope you have a happy weekend and the grey skies turn to blue 🙂

Hi Vivienne, how spooky I’ve just done a Blue Sky blog post, the cafe sort and not the clouds. I think I’ve seen similar clouds this week, the skies are lovely and dramatic but the all day grey, drizzly thing is quite the most depressing.
What lovely coloured crochet, that’s very nice wool you’ve got there, it’s almost got that inky hand dyed look.
Have a good weekend, Sally x

Just posted about the sky and find that you did too Vivienne! It has been hard not to observe the sky what with all the strange weather we have been having! The brooches are very pretty and the varigated yarn is very interesting and effective too! I hope you are having a lovely weekend. x

Your stormy corsages are lovely Vivienne and perfectly sum up this summer so far – let’s hope we get some more blue skies soon!

Those flowers really are the perfect mirror of the skies this month … a little bright blue and a lot of stormy blue and grey. And still it rains. Although I’m enjoying the cool I’d like to see the sun a bit more. Although I guess in the second week of Wimbledon that has to be a vain hope, silly me 😉

I just dream of blue skies!! Great corsages – perfect colours for an English Summer!!!!!!!!
Have a happy week – whether skies are blue or grey.
