Blue & Pink Roses

by greenrabbitdesigns

I don’t know I can’t seem to get much crafting done at the minute. Too much washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and other such boring things!! I have however managed to complete these little blue cotton roses, at the request of a dear friend, thanks Mia for getting me motivated ! 🙂

I still have a lot of unfinished items sitting about which hopefully will get completed soon.

Now you’ve seen the blue roses so what about the pink?
Well look at this little fighter……..

…….. in bud in all this dreadful weather. I don’t know if it will make it into flower after all the torrential rain and gales we’ve had and are forecast still to get but bless it, it’s trying!

When I was in the greenhouse to photograph my corsages (good daylight with the added benefit of being warm and dry), I noticed my geraniums still in bloom but they’re quite cosy inside away from the elements. Actually the photos look like they were taken on a summer’s day (I wish). At least they’re something bright to look at on a grey day, we can do with all the brightness we can get these days. Like the wonderful news of the royal engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton, another bit of brightness on a grey day! I’m so looking forward to their wedding, oh I do love a royal wedding! 🙂

Finally I’ll leave with this little pile which is destined to become a cushion cover for the Dutch Sisters Pillow Swap. My swap partner stated that she didn’t want a knitted or crocheted cushion which is a bit unfortunate as that is my ‘thing’. The extent of my sewing is to sew up a lining for my bags which isn’t that testing! I’ll just have to pretend that it’s a big bag lining!!
I’ll let you see how I get on!

Enjoy the rest of the week, can you believe it’s Wednesday already!

That is a shame about the swap – I’d have loved to have seen a knitted pillow.
Those final buds are a joy aren’t they?
Enjoy the rest of your week. P x

Lovely corsages, with such pretty centres too, they work really well. It’s nice to see some flower pictures again – the roses are amazing the way they keep on producing a few late flowers. Good luck with your sewing – a knitted or crochet pillow would have been lovely!
Have a good week and I hope you get a bit more crafty time. Helen x

Lovely little blue flowers. I have brought my geraniums into our unheated conservatory and like yours they are blooming well and give a reall burst of colour still. Good luck with your cushion cover!

Love the little flowers!! My mom’s garden just had a rose bloom the other day and it’s been in the 30’s here. I’m sure your partner will love your swap item 🙂

Lovely blue roses Vivienne that will keep all year. It’s great that some of the flowers in our gardens are still battling against the elements. I still have Gazanias opening out in the chilly sunshine!
Have a great weekend, we are off to York for my DHs Christmas “do”!

Your crocheted flowers are so neat and look so pretty. I’m utterly useless at crochet. I’m determined to give it another go in 2011 though.
I was really happy when I heard that William and Kate were gonna get married. They looked so happy together, I wish them all the very best. I know some people will moan about the cost of a Royal Wedding, but it might just lift the spirits of the rest of the country, and that can’t be a bad thing can it? I love a good wedding too.

Hi, I stumbled across your blog and love your photographs. They are amazing. I too hear you as I have been slacking a tad too, on making my bunnies, so I understand.

I find your blog so interesting I am bookmarking to follow.

Have a wonderful day, Bunnie Marie

I love those blue broches you made. they are so pretty with the matching buttons in the middle. I can’t wait to see what you’re gonna make for the swap. Although its out of your comfort zone it will be perfect, i’m sure!

Oh those crochet flowers are such beautiful muted colours – my favourite.

I do love your corsages, such perfect shades and I have to say I would have been delighted to have a knitted cushion. However, I’m sure the sewn one will be gorgeous when it’s done!
