Home family Bushmills

by greenrabbitdesigns

Yesterday afternoon we paid a visit to the world famous Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest working whiskey distillery in Ireland.

And what was our reason for visiting this facinating destination?

Well this time it wasn’t to do the tour and whiskey tasting (I have to say though, Bushmills are extremely generous with their free samples;))

No this time we were there for ‘Bushmills Live’, a music festival celebrating local music.

So not only was there homegrown whiskey but homegrown talent too!

Of course if we’re talking homegrown talent, that means General Fiasco were most definitely there! 🙂

Some more local talent that some of you who are into your popular music might recognise ~ Snow Patrol! I have to say they were amazing!!! Thanks go to my OH for the band photos, my little camera couldn’t cope with smoke machines and strange lighting.

Can I just say that I’m not sponsored by Bushmills Distillery or the Northern Ireland Tourist Board just proud of our local talent and industrial history!

It really was a lovely evening out and although overcast it did stay dry which is more than I can say for today! It looks like late autumn outside. I heard on the radio today that we are to get the equivalent of 2 months rain in the next 3 weeks!! I do hope they’ve got that one wrong!

Wishing you all a great weekend. 🙂

I love music festivals Vivienne, and how fantastic to have Snow Patrol playing………so glad it stayed dry for you…………………2 months worth of rain in the next 3 weeks you say, I feel I should get OH to start building a paddle boat, just incase our local river does come a-calling.

What a fantastic night out Vivienne. How cool that you son’s band are rubbing shoulders with Snow Patrol (one of our family’s fave bands). I hope you are wrong with that rain forecast but then at least it might brighten up for 28th July?? What has happened to our summer? Have a lovely weekend whatever the weather.

Hello Vivienne,

It seems that you’ve had some days, and is the weather been better too? We have had Midsummer celebrations here in sunshine, yippee! I wish you lovely last days of June, and there’s an award for you in my blog, welcome!

Hi Vivienne, I know Snow Patrol and your son all in one evening! Now that’s great entertainment! It’s so fun to listen to music and sit back (maybe with a drink or two) and enjoy the music and the surroundings. Sounds like my cup of tea! Getting caught up with blogs and your past one your flowers are just beautiful. Hope your weather improves.

I will probably never make it to Europe, but I have really enjoyed your beautiful photos. I just found your blog, and am really enjoying it. Thank you.

HI Vivienne, Love your summer solstice photos – your garden is so lovely! I feel exactly the same way about the days getting shorter now…sigh.
And I love this post about some local culture in your corner of the world, How awesome it must be to see one’s son up on the stage! Last night my son was practicing his guitar (about 2 months into lessons now) strumming along to the tune of Pippy Longstocking…not so bad for a beginner but he’s got a way to go 🙂 Have a lovely day! xoxo Karen

Don’t you just love a whisky distillery, I’ve only been to Scottish ones but I love the smells and the odd sample doesn’t go amiss either!
Sounds like you had a great evening, your sons group are doing really well to be gigging alongside Snow Patrol.
The sun is out, I can’t believe it!
Have a jolly week, Sally x
