Christmas Crochet & Cosy Cats

by greenrabbitdesigns

I’m still Christmas crafting, these corsages are destined for Treacle Wool Shop who kindly take some of my work.

I love this silver yarn, it’s not stiff and hard like some metallic yarns as it’s made from extra fine merino.

Now you all know the story of our cat family well four of the little kittens now have new homes. Two boys went together and two girls went off together, I hope they’ll be very happy with their new families. It was one of the hardest things we’ve had to do, as my husband said we usually take in animals not send them away but as you know we are full to capacity at the moment. In fact we are thinking of putting a ‘no vacancies’ sign in the window. With the help of the Cat’s Protection we have now managed to get their mother, Kitty and she has had her operation so thankfully no more babies. As mentioned in previous posts Jessie is staying with us and we have kept one of her little brothers to keep her company and his name is Charlie.

And here are the two of them very sleepily cosying up together, they are gorgeous!

Well lovely people, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, thanks as always for your lovely comments!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, isn’t it! 😉

So pretty (the kitties and the crochet). My good friend Lal (who also test knits for me bless her) lives just down the road from Treacle Wool Shop and is a frequent visitor … I’ll tell her to look out for your wares 😀

I don’t think your pretty corsages will stay in the wool shop for very long.
They are so lovely especially the red one.
What a great name for a shop 🙂
Your fur babies are so sweet.

I would pin a red flower upon my grey winter coat and banish those dark days from my mind………….I can’t remember which book I read these words in but your gorgeous red corsage reminded me of them, beautiful corsages to brighten any winter day………your kittens look very contented.

I am so happy that you got new homes for all the little kitties and kept two for yourself! The corsages are wonderful and just the thing to brighten up a winter coat. I can’t feel Christmassy yet as it is far too warm here. Once the frost arrives, then I will feel Christmassy – probably in January!!! x

I do like that silver wool, I haven’t seen anything like it before that soft, very nice effect on the corsage.
It was good to read about the next chapter with the cat family and comforting to hear that 2 lots have gone together, and also good that mother cat has been neutered. Sad for you to see them go but they’ll soon settle and you’ve got 2 lovely kitties celebrating their first Christmas!
Have a good week, lets hope the sun comes out, haven’t seen it for ages. x

So pleased your kitties are all going to good homes (including you, of course – we love our two to bits). And more lovely crafting I see, too. Keep them coming, it’s lovely seeing them ..

LOve the corsages Vivienne – you have a real knack of finding the perfect button to complement each one. Thanks for the cute picture of the kittens too, I do miss not having animals anymore x
