Home bags Craft Fair

Craft Fair

by greenrabbitdesigns

I know last year I said with regard to craft fairs “never again” but when I was asked to attend one last week I relented and went along anyway!

I’m happy to say I’m quite glad I did attend as I did quite well. I didn’t make a huge effort after last year, just closed my Etsy shop for the evening put a cloth over the table and my Green Rabbit Design sign up and that was it. Sometimes less is more! As it was a community event and the craft fair was an attraction there was no table fee either.

I sold quite a few brooches, all my bags except one and all my bunnies apart from one as well. However the most important thing to come out of the evening was the interest in my rabbits and about how many I would have for sale in the future. I could have taken orders but didn’t want to put that pressure on myself and lose the fun of making them. As one lady put it “can we order them or do we have to wait for them to be born”, my answer was of course, you have to wait until they’re born but I thought that was a lovely way of putting it and exactly how I want it to be.

So as a result of the fair my shop has had a bit of a clear out, I have added some new Christmas brooches but I have decided to have a little sale until the end of the month. Just enter CHRISTMAS2012 at the checkout to receive 20% off, it will be available until midnight on Friday. You can find my shop here.

Anyhow I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you haven’t suffered too much from the horrible weather that has hit parts of the UK, we have been very fortunate here with just some frost and fog.

Hopefully this week (the last week of autumn!) will be kinder to everyone!

Happy new week! 🙂

Congratulations on your successful craft fair! That’s really great Vivienne!
Your bunnies are so sweet, it doesn’t surprise me with their popularity. I understand completely about the pressure of order demands….I think it can take the fun out of making them especially this time of year when there are so many things to do. BUT lovely to think you could if you wanted too!
Have a nice week, xoRobin❤

Hooray, Vivienne, that’s great! After the last time’s not -so-nice-go I’m so happy this was a good experience for you! And I’m not a bit surprised that you sold well AND the bunnies were a hit! They’re simply adorable. And unique too, and if you just can keep them that way (you give them their personality and then the right person finds the perfect bunny and not other way around) it’s so so so much more fun. The custom-orders are great but…just different to make.

Oh, what a long message…Summa summarum: Happy last days of November, dear friend, and happy creating!

Yours,
Mia

Dear Vivienne,

I am so, so pleased for you! You deserve the very best praise for your creations. Gosh, I’m smiling from ear to ear here but am not fully awake yet so am strangely lost for words.

Your stall looked so colourful. I’m so happy that this craft fair was a success, Vivienne. The folks who attended obviously appreciated your beautiful makes. I love the thought of your bunnies being born.
Happy Monday to you.

Fantastic on a very good fair – the stall looks lovely. The idea of the bunnies being born is perfect – they are so individual and little characters in their own right! Maggie.

I know just how wonderful your work is Vivienne as I have 2 bunny sisters in our family ;0) I am delighted at your success but not at all surprised. Keep crafting and let those bunnies be born,

Congrats! That is wonderful news – fairs can always be a little overwhelming. I think letting the bunnies just be born is perfect in every way.

How lovely that your work sold so well at the craft fair….though I am not a bit surprised! I love the observation about the bunnies being ‘born’ rather than ordered…that is just how I like to work creating my bunnies too 🙂 You are right to enjoy your making and not put pressure on yourself. Your stall looked lovely and I am glad you had a good time.
Enjoy your week…and keep cosy!

How nice for you – and no surprise that your things were a hit, they are always so lovely. It seems to work well when there is no panic and just the simple fun of setting things up. I think your table looks very nice.

Brilliant! Why does it work that way? Who knows, but love the clean and fresh look of the table – and not surprised you did so well!

That’s fantastic, and I’m not surprised the bunnies are so popular. They are adorable. I hope your little angel enjoys herself at the Christmas Tree Festival! Thanks for visiting Planet Penny x

I wondered why the shop was closed Vivienne! I am not surprised that you did well at the fair as you make such lovely things. As an owner of one of your beautiful bunnies I can vouch for how well made they are with such loving attention to detail. I think you should add limited edition to your bunnies too, because they are! x

Hi Vivienne, I was a bit worried when I saw that your shop was closed. Now I know it was for a good cause!! I am very pleased to hear how well you did at this year’s show.
I’m not surprised the bunnies were such a hit.

Happy creating and almost December!!
