December Tree

by greenrabbitdesigns

Can you believe this is the last tree photo of the year, I can’t. These past twelve months have flown in and I know we still have a whole month to go but it never seemed any time at all between photos!

As has been the norm for all but two of the months (August and October) the 1st of December is another beautiful morning. I think the moral of the story is if you’re going to have a day out in this corner of the UK do it on the first of the month.

The tree as expected at this time of year is bare, it is hard to see in the photo as our neighbours behind us have horrendous evergreen trees (sorry but I like trees that are natural to this part of the world) and my bare branches are hard to see.

The only thing left on the tree are a few very brown and dried up helicopters!

Although I do prefer the time of year when the tree is in full bloom there is something very beautiful about these stark bare branches.

I always have a photographic assistant when I’m doing my tree photo, this morning it was the very handsome R.J. 🙂

So there we have it, a year in the life of my sycamore tree! Just look at the difference between April and May and between October and November!

Without a doubt my favourite month is May, May has always been my favourite month but just look at that tree, so green!!

What’s your favourite?

I’ll be watching the tree very closely over the coming weeks searching for signs of spring, can’t wait!!!

Well lovely people I have a craft fair this evening and I really shouldn’t be sitting here on the laptop! Thank you for all your good luck wishes and also thank you all so much for voting for my little bag, I don’t know the results yet but I do appreciate all the support you have given me!

Enjoy the rest of the week and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

I was just thinking Vivienne, your monthly tree images would make a lovely calendar for next year…………….this year has gone past way too fast for my liking, but now we’re into December I intend to enjoy this festive runup to Christmas to it’s fullest………….good luck with the fair, I’m sure you’ll do wonderfully.

I love the stark bare branches, but I also love it when the leaves start to appear again in spring.

Good luck for tonight, not that you will need it! :0)

Best of luck with your fair Vivienne, let’s hope you make lots and lots of sales.
I’m going to be honest with you about your tree .. I prefer December. You see, our neighbours have a huge sycamore in their very unkempt garden and I get sick of pulling up their saplings from our lawn. Sorry! But I do appreciate how wonderful Mother Nature is and the difference between those months is incredible.

That went fast…. a whole year of first of the month tree pictures!! This one is lovely, I do think the bare branches against the sky always look beautiful. Soon the leaves will begin sprouting again though and we’ll be whisking on again into a new season! Hope the fair went well!
Have a wonderful weekend, Vivienne.

Vivienne! I am so very, very excited! I have just received your bag AND birthday gift! Oh, everything is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The bag is even more wonderful than in picture. I love it! I am going out to a Advent evening with friends tonight and the star of the show will be (aside from my Quality Street fairy cakes 🙂 ) your bag and LOVELY brooch. Thank you Vivienne. I am totally thrilled and I cannot wait to show them off tonight.

I shall certainly be ordering from you again ….

I hope you did well at the craft fair Vivienne! I love the tree mosaic. I think you should turn your tree photos into a calender. This has been such fun to go through each month with you. x

Simone December 2, 2011 - 6:34 pm

I have just read other bloggers saying that you should make the photos into a calender too. I should have read the others comments first! x

Gorgeous. We don’t have sycamores here. But when I worked at a Laura Ashley shop in the 90s, there was a fabric print called sycamore. It was one of my all-time favorites. Because of that fabric, I also love your tree. 😉

Dear Vivienne,

I just can’t choose a favorite, but spring trees have something special in them, hope, joy and happiness! I wish you wonderful weekend and best of luck for the fair!

And A BIG kiss to that handsome boy, RJ!

Dear, dear Vivienne,

I hope you don’t mind; I would like to post about your beautiful bag on my NEXT post – not the one I just wrote – I am having a spot of bother with the camera and I would like to make a bit of a special feature about it for Making Winter? Is that ok?

I wore it TWICE this weekend for special outings and it was MUCH admired.

Warmest wishes,

Patty December 4, 2011 - 7:41 pm

Hey Vivienne, following your day at the craft fair yesterday, I have presented you with the Liebster Blog Award. Have a look at my blog to see what it is.
