Hello Again…..

by greenrabbitdesigns

Well hello again, I never meant to be away this long but thanks to a very sick laptop being able to join you all in blogland came to a very abrupt standstill! It all seems to be going ok again but it took a while to get it all sorted out, even getting my photos on this afternoon was a mission as everything has changed and I’m not very good at change I’m afraid. It’s so good to be back again though, I have missed my blogging, it felt like all my friends were at a party and I hadn’t been invited, I felt a bit left out!!

So what have I been up to in my absence, well I’m still at my spring cleaning but that is so boring I’m not even going to talk about it. I have been doing a little crochet, some little flowers have been made for a little idea I have for my shop. I hope to do a shop update in February after my 15% off sale which is still on until the end of January.

I’ve been doing a little shopping too! I bought a lovely piece of Orla Kiely fabric which I intend to use in one of my bags and I also purchased one of Beth’s gorgeous lavender birds. Have a look at the The Linen Cat shop to see all Beth’s lovely creations.

I love this little spring corner of my living room and the scent of lavender everytime I walk past the little bird is wonderful.

I’m still keeping an eye on the sky for Annie’s project. This photo was taken last Monday afternoon.

I’ve also managed to finish the front of my cushion I just need to get it blocked. It’s a Kaffe Fasset pattern which I got as a kit a few years back as a gift from Rowan International for renewing my membership. It lay in a drawer until a couple of weeks ago when I decided to give it a go!

The downside to the project is the endless ends which need sewn in, I think I’ll have to leave them for a day when I’m really in the mood for sewing!!

And finally we have had a birthday in the family this week. It was my son’s birthday yesterday and we celebrated with a lovely Thai meal last night.

So there you have it my week without the internet! Strangely I thought I would have managed to get more done without the distraction of the world wide web which just goes to prove that I don’t waste time on my computer afterall (perhaps I would have got less cleaning and sorting done though) !! 😉

Have a lovely weekend, it is nice to be back at the party! 🙂

Oh Vivienne your cushion is sumptuous! I am full of admiration for people like yourself who knit intarsia so beautifully.

It is wonderful to have you back and I wish your son a year ahead full of joy and good things.

A bientôt!

Hi Vivienne, thanks for stopping by and I’m glad you are up and running again. Welcome to the party! I must say though, you did inspire me with your skies, I’ve been taking extra notice and we have had some beautiful skies, also the night sky just took your breath away, even though I live where the street lights live!
I love your little bird, I will take a peek at the site you bought it from.
Hope you have a really lovely weekend,
love Val and a big lick from Bella xxLL

Oh so glad your back – you were missed!!

Happy Birthday to your son. The little bird would sure brighten my day too, and lavender is one of my favorite things to smell.

Can’t wait to see that cushion. I never know if I am sewing my ends in correctly when I am doing crochet or knitting work. Looking at all those threads would send me in a tizzy.

Love your cushion!!! It is gorgeous, so colourful! Also envious of your lavender birdie, I have had my eye on one of those for a while now! Don’t worry, you haven’t missed that much this week – though I know what you mean… I have less time for blogging at the mo and so don’t get around all the blogs I’d like then feel confused when reading posts cos I’ve missed the previous one!! Anyway, hope you have a happy weekend, good luck with those ends! Jenny xxx

It’s great to have you back Vivienne. You have been very busy and I loved seeing those daffs and your lovely projects. Beth’s birds are lovely, I bought a couple last year, they made super presents. I am glad you enjoyed your son’s birthday. We had a lovely day today celebrating my Hbs despite the cold wet weather. Have a lovely weekend. Looking forward to “seeing” you next week.

How nice to have you back! I love the colours in that cushion, and in the sky! And I’ve been coveting that Orla Kiely fabric for ages, her more muted colour palettes are so me!

I’m fascinated by your little flowers, what can they be going to be?!

Susan January 21, 2012 - 10:46 am

Hello Vivienne!,,,Your little crochet flowers are so pretty…I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with for your lovely shop. Your Spring corner is so bright and fresh too and I am going to pop over to see Beth’s shop when I leave you….the little bird hanger is so pretty!
The colours on your cushion are fab…it looks beautiful and the texture is gorgeous….Hmm..darning in yarn ends…not a favourite way to pass my time…although they look lovely in your pic!
Love your photographs in the last post…for some reason I seem to have missed it!
Lastly, but most importantly…Happy Birthday to Stuart!…the years pass by so quickly don’t they?
Have a lovely weekend ,

You have been missed at the party!!! I like your spring corner. I wish I could have a surface that doesn’t get covered in mobile phones, coins, paper etc and just have a pretty vase of flowers! You must have them all well trained at home! Have a lovely week Vivienne and thankl you so much for the beady support on my blog. x

Good to see you back! Your cushion is fabulous and I love that little bird.

Nice to have you back Vivienne, poorly computers are not fun! Am loving your Kaffe Fasset cushion and thinking to myself that as it’s a cushion and all those ends will be inside you could maybe get away with tying them off and leaving them? Your little spring corner is lovely and a reminder that it’s on the way – hope we don’t have too much more winter to get through before it arrives!

Patty January 21, 2012 - 8:26 pm

Welcome back Vivienne, frustrating when technology cuts you off from things isn’t it. Looks like you’ve had a colourful week, lovely Orla fabric and what a pretty little bird. Isn’t the cushion a great set of colours, all jewel colours together look very striking.
Mmmm, the Thai birthday meals sounds good.
Have a good weekend, x

Welcome back! Thanks for such a lovely mention, really glad you like the birdie 🙂 I love the sky photo, it has the most beautiful colours and I’m envious of your lovely crochet flowers as I recently started to learn to make them again and quite frankly I’m not very good! Practice makes perfect though so I shall keep going. Thanks again, Bethx

So nice to see you back at the party Vivienne and a belated Happy Birthday to your son.

Your knitted cushion looks sumptious, I’m with you on weaving in the ends though, it’s a real pain……..that sky looks a little dark and threatning…………….more rain perhaps!

Hi Vivienne – so glad your computer is feeling better. I love your blog and have missed it. The little flowers are so pretty and so is the cushion. But I have a question – if this is to be a cushion front, meaning it will be backed – why worry about weaving in all the ends other than a quick loop or two to be sure the joins stay tight? Just a thought! It’s going to be lovely, regardless. I worked a Kaffe Fasset Needlepoint design years ago (just one – just once)and I’m still in awe of what he does with color!

Thai!! YUmmmy….love your cushion front…love the texture of this…enjoy

And happy belated birthday to your son!

Hello Vivienne,

I am so happy you’re back, it’s always horrible when computer has some problems (as I cannot do a single thing myself)!

Lovely cratfs once again, I cannot wait to see the new items in your shop!

Have a wonderful (and hopefully sunny) week!
