Well here we are at the beginning of another new month and as it is the 1st March, in my book that means it’s the beginning of spring!!
It most definitely feels like spring here today, that’s for sure. I’ve just returned from walking into town to do some shopping and believe it or not I had to take my coat off as it was so warm. Happy, happy days! 🙂
The beginning of a new month also means another look at my tree to see how it’s coming on. At first glance it looks like not a lot has changed since January and February but it is full of little buds ready to burst open!
If this weather continues I don’t think it will be long until these little buds will unfurl!
Just look at the sky today, another day for getting the washing dried outside in the garden.
My flowering currant has already burst into leaf!
In the green house, the sweetpea are coming along nicely too.
My little tete a tete daffodils are now in bloom as well.
The 1st March is St. David’s day, the patron saint of Wales and the beautiful daffodil is the national flower of Wales. So if you’re from Wales or have any Welsh blood in you, happy St David’s day!!
There’s a saying that if March
‘comes in like a lamb, it goes out like a lion‘
or if it
‘comes in like a lion, it goes out like a lamb‘ !
Well today has been very lamb-like!
Sayings can be wrong though!
Can’t they !!

What beautiful blue skies and cheery daffs :0)
You must be getting all my lovely, warm, Spring weather too – that’s rather selfish of you Vivienne! (only joking).
It’s cold and gloomy here :0(
Wishing you many more warm Spring days to enjoy xxxx
You really seem to be getting some lovely sunshine Vivienne, it’s still so gloomy today and very chilly here again. At last it’s 1st March, yipee too! Good to see spring coming in your garden and the leaves ready to unfurl on your calandar tree! March can be very unpredictable…let’s see which of the sayings come true!
Happy March!

It doesnt feel like spring here today!
You’ve reminded me I must get some sweet peas.
I havent grown a bean yet!!
I’m a quarter Welsh so thank you very much!!! Isn’t it so uplifting to see new growth but lucky you having some spring-like weather, it really couldn’t be anything further from that here, it was 4 deg this morning. Oh well – can’t believe the post office got your package to you so quickly, very impressive!

Lovely pictures, Vivienne! So much blue sky and your wonderful tree in bud, and the bright and cheery daffodils. I loved seeing the bright green sweet pea seedling too, growing away there. Have a great week in your garden – I’ll be out in mine whenever I get the chance! Helen x
It’s nice to see the tree in march 🙂 Can’t wait for the warmer weather here and all the gardening waiting to be done.
Sigh. It’s so nice to know it’s warm and spring-like somewhere in the world. Thank you for the keyhole look into your garden.
Such JOY over here today…I love visiting you my friend. Your images give me HOPE! xoxo hugs
Thank you for visiting me today! I agree completely – the First of March is the first day of Spring in my book. I’ve been so anxious to get out there and grow something. My flowering currant is also starting to unfurl it’s leaves and my forsythia is glowing with it’s lovely yellow flowers – it’s such a shame when they all fall off as it’s a bit of a boring shrub for the rest of the year. 🙂
March means spring in my mind too – just been out taking pictures of my work, and the air is so fresh and clear and the sun is shining. These days are so lovely, though I must admit being a little chilly without my coat! Gorgeous daffodil pics too, that yellow is just so happy and sunshiney:) xxx
Happy Spring time!
Happy March, Viv!
I am loving your blue skies and green buds – so cheerful! Thank you for sharing it all with us!
Yours,
Mia
Today we had a lovely sunny (almost) spring day. Happy march!
I love your tree project, such a great idea and as always, some lovely photos. Quite jealous of your Spring weather as it’s ffffffffffreezing here today. OK, I exaggerate, if I read Mia’s blog it’s practically Summer, but it feels v cold. Bethx
I love Tone’s books – I have 5 including this one. My fav is Sew Pretty Homestyle.
