It’s marmalade season!

I remember many years ago making marmalade, it refused to come out of the jar!!

I have to be honest I really don’t bother making it as Bonne Maman do it so well and not only do they make excellent marmalade but………..

……..their wonderful jars make pretty holders for buttons and other haberdashery.

However this year I have made an exception and made Marmalade….the bunny.

Marmalade is the first of the February Girls, who this month don’t have a particular theme but just a mix of ideas that need to come out of my head!

Can I thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my Valentine Girls, they have all gone off to their new homes in New Zealand, the U.S. and all across the UK.

I’d also like to thank all you lovely people who like my posts as well, it’s lovely to know that you have dropped by, I do appreciate the fact that you take time to read my posts and hit the like button.

So here we are in February and I’m sorry to say it hasn’t got any warmer, come on weather warm up a bit!! On the plus side the days are definitely getting longer.

Have a great week. 🙂

Hi I haven’t ever left a comment on any of the beautiful blogs I regularly look at. However your post made me smile so much I just had to. I had a particularly challenging day and a good friend has had some bad news. So when catching the bus home from work I looked on line, oh how I smiled, I looked at your lovely heading think oh a marmalade bunny, only to see a jar, I was grinning from ear to ear when I saw the real bunny. The lady opposite must have thought I was bonkers!. Thank you for taking the time to share all your beautiful pictures. All of you bloggers give us amazing entertainment and I for one really appreciate it x

Hello dear Vivienne,

Marmalade is just perfect little girl: the colors, skirt and the BUTTON; oh what a beautiful button! You just make these little bunnies so adorable, and I must say I could not agree more with Teresa above: Thank you for taking your time to create these happy posts us to see and enjoy. Little sunshine to our rather gray days!

Have a lovely wee, dear friend!

Even though I make my own marmalade and pretty much all of my jam I still buy Bonne Maman preserves just for the jars. I love your Marmalade’s little cardigan

I’ve always wanted to like marmalade but have never been able to manage it – I’m a jam girl 🙂 However, your Marmalade girl is far more sweet than bitter! <3

I can discuss marmalade in depth, many failures to report, but I’ll put those painful memories aside and just enjoy this sweet bunny.

Marigold Jam February 4, 2015 - 8:13 am

Just what is needed on a cold grey day – your marmalade bunny is beautiful. I do enjoy making marmalade – a peaceful afternoon slicing and simmering with the radio for company and then enough marmalade to last till the same thing next year. I do put some of mine in Bon Maman jars which I have from our time living in France!

I think I prefer marmalade the bunny to the edible variety. She is stunning and so vibrant on these dismal days. I love the Bonne Maman jars too – such a lovely shape for storing all kinds of bits and bobs in. x

I love your gorgeous photos, Vivienne! So warm and cheerful, the marmalade pot picture is so bright and I do love those jars for storage too. And your Marmalade bunny is so sweet with her orange printed dress, little matching cardi and fab button! Looking forward to the temperatures warming up a bit next weekend…..but loving the lighter, longer days!
Wishing you a happy week.

I love those jars too. I enjoy marmalade a lot but I need more practice making it, mine cooked too long and is really hard to spread!

Dearest Vivienne,

Please forgive me for arriving so late to welcome gorgeous, scrumptious Marmalade into this world. Flu has hit our home along with a few other challenges. Needless to say seeing such a cheery splash of colour and prettiness makes me feel quite a lot better!

I used to love making marmalade but as I’m the only one who eats it, and I’ve been avoiding bread quite a lot recently, I have jars and jars to get through and am no longer allowed to do homemade. Love your marmalade girl! Bethx
