Home animals More Rain

We really do need reminding that it’s summertime, don’t we!

After what was a reasonably good start to the week here, it has taken a turn for the worst.

At this time of year I really look forward to spending time in my garden and enjoying it.

It really is a case of ducking the showers and getting out there when I can, if I’m lucky, sometimes the showers last all day.

Lots of lovely stuff is happening out there too, when we do get a little dry spell I’m out there with my camera.

You just have to grab the moments when you can!

Wouldn’t it all look so much better in the sunshine though!

Even though I detest the rain there is something quite pretty about raindrops on leaves, don’t you think ~ but just once in a while.

As I can’t always get out to ‘play’ with my flowers, I’ve had to resort to staying in and making some!

At least it stayed dry long enough for me to pick some spinach for the pasta at teatime!

With the help (or hindrance??) of Jessie!!! 🙂

As I type this I can see a bit of blue sky, better late than never I suppose! So I think I’ll make the most of it and take a walk in the park, it could raining again tomorrow!!!
Hopefully not though!

Lovely photos. The sun came out here this evening just enough to remind us that it is actually summer!

The rain is unrelentless!!! Saying that we have had a dry day but the threat of showers so I guess it isn’t unrelentless after all!!! The sun has jusrt popped out at sundown! The ‘raindrops’ in your crochet flowers are so pretty and little Jessie is so pretty too! I hope you manage to get some time spent in the garden tomorrow. x

Your flowers (both garden variety and those made of yarn) are very pretty.
Oh dear, you really do need some sun don’t you? I wish I could send some over your way.
What a pretty little kitty Jessie is 🙂

Oh isn’t it just so boring .. the rain I mean, not your post 🙂
Having said that, today was rain free, yippee. Your garden seems to have enjoyed the extra watering though, so at least some good has come out of it all. And beautiful flowers as ever Vivienne, you are one clever lady xx

Hi Vivienne, Thank you for some lovely shots of summer. It has been so rainy here also, and I’m not happy about it. I have to stop complaining because as I type the sun is out! But like you, you really have to be able to dash outside at a blue sky notice. Let’s hope for more sunny days in our future!

It’s not rained here for a couple of days actually, not that it’s really been very nice though. Since having a garden I am actually more fond of the rain – saves me having to go and water everything anyway! I love the picture of Jessie, I do love your cat pictures, they make me want one even more. I really like your corsages too, very pretty 🙂 Hope the rest of your week is a bit drier and brighter, Jenny x

I hope that very large rain cloud that has been hovering over your parts drifts away soon (as long as it goes the other way and not this way).
All day it’s been raining here with no blue skies, just gray. Makes one rather sleepy.

Oh look at your pretty crochet flowers blooming and sparkling in your garden! I am slowly but surely getting a bit impatient too with all the wet and cold, my kids are going nuts in the house and I’m huddled up in layers of cardigans! No one wants to eat the rest of the chilled watermelon let alone try out the new ice-cream maker I bought. Fingers crossed for us that summer returns soon! Have a lovely day, Vivienne! xo Karen

Your pretty sparkly crochet flowers have brightened up another wet morning here and added some much needed sunshine to another cloudy day……………..I suppose the silver lining to all this rain is the garden looking beautifully green and lush, oh and not having to water in the little forget-me-not, thank you so much for these little plants Vivienne, they look right at home in my flower border.

I thought we were in for such a promising summer this year but your wet rose buds look just like mine, the wind has blown off the big open roses so there’s pink, soggy, petally mess everywhere. Hopefully your greenhouse plants are doing ok in the shelter. I like the delicate colours of the crochet flowers, the cream one looks particularly real. Batten down the hatches, looks like a few bad weather days brewing, grrrrr!

I actually saw some sun here this morning and managed a walk to school without a COAT!!!!!!
Love the colour of your Hydrangea, Vivienne, & your crochet flowers are beautiful with all their sparkle. Jill x

The only consolation is that I always love going out in the garden when it has just rained, there is a beautiful fresh green smell…I can’t describe…and you certainly can’t bottle it.

Hope you’re having a lovely week.

Our rain has destroyed the peonies, yours still look lovely! Our weather sounds so similar to yours right now. We have had some nice days here and there and have been running out to the garden when we can.
I love your handmade flowers, so pretty!

Gardens are so pretty after rain, but as you say, even better in summer sun. Pretty crocheted interlopers you have there ;D

Lovely garden, sorry to hear about all of the rain.

I’m sending some sun your way. I love your newest corsage duo!

The open pink rose (4th from the top) is beautiful, mine are let to flower, but the peonies are giving quite a show at the moment. Love the crochet flowers as well, especially with their bead centers. Bethx

Seeing the flowers in their glory from behind the window as the rain pours down is just not the same, and then all too soon they are over and you feel cheated as you havent been able to be out there enjoying them!
Your flowers are looking lovely, especially the pink rose – beautiful! I wonder if it is scented too and what variety it is?
Your spinach looks good – mines not yet ready for picking!
Love the little crochet flowers – they look like they have raindrops in the centres.
Have a great weekend Vivienne whatever the weather!

Dear Vivienne,

It’s been pretty here for a few days now (well some heavy rain/storms yesterday but one can’t complain TOO much if sun shines even a little) and I am sending you SO MUCH sunshine and hot weather from here! I am actually sending you SUMMER, dear! Your flowers are so beautiful… And that sweet cat! Kiss her for me!

Happy Sunday!

Yours,
Mia

P.S. Francoise the bunny is in one of my treasuries at etsy, she’s such a sweet, sweet girl!

Yes, it has been raining a lot here as well – but today we got some hours with sun and warmth which was very much needed! I could harvest my first two tomatoes too so I was happy! 🙂

Love your flower pics!

The rain really has been a pain hasn’t it. But the beautiful flowers in your garden certainly look very well on it so there is a silver lining to the old grey clouds!
