This post is an antidote to all the other ‘white’ UK posts that are about today. Despite a dreadful weather forecast for the weekend, I’m happy to say we got rain and 8 degrees C. I can’t believe I was actually happy with rain but I was and in comparison to last weeks temperatures 8 deg C seemed almost warm!
Yesterday was so nice we managed to get a walk in the park and as our weather is still behaving itself I am still in pre-spring mode!
Lots of little clumps of snowdrops and crocuses bringing cheery colour can be found throughout the park.
Little catkins are appearing too.
The geese always welcome human visitors, on the off chance that there might be some bread.
I must admit that the geese are my favourite birds in the park, they have lots of attitude!
Of course there are lots of other wildfowl on the lake and they enjoy all the attention they get especially on a Sunday.
Although the trees appear to still be very bare on close inspection lots of little buds are forming.
So if you have been snowbound this weekend I hope you enjoyed your little walk with me in what seems to have been the part of the UK with the best weather (for a change)!
Today has been even nicer, with a lovely blue sky and a sun that actually has a bit of warmth to it!
R.J. has found himself a little spot at the corner of our garage in which to enjoy the sun.
Before I go I would like to thank Sally from Lavender Attic for very kindly awarding me the Versatile Blogger Award. I’m not going to do a list of things about myself as I have done this a couple of times before and I’m sure you know all about my likes and dislikes by now. I’m also not going to single out a group of bloggers to pass the award on to either as I love so many blogs and couldn’t narrow them down, so this is for all of you. Thanks again Sally for being so kind!
Wishing you all a lovely week with hopefully a bit of sunshine! 🙂

Hi Vivienne,
I love seeing your park come to life again. It tells me there is hope and rebirth is going to be happening once again. Keep sharing your pictures because here in Vermont USA, we have a long way to go.

We too had a mild (well compared with the previous few days) weekend here in the West Country. It’s all looking quite hopeful here – sorry to those of you who are snowbound!
Hello Vivienne,
lovely pictures…Spring is just around the corner. I can’t wait, I’m really ready for it now.

oooh nice to see your snowdrops and crocuses peeping out – a sure sign that spring is stirring. Our snow has turned to slush but hasn’t yet disappeared – I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ve had winter now!
Just look at that blue sky! And all those lovely signs of spring – I’m deeply envious!!

R J is absolutely adorable; possibly the lovliest cat in the UK? 🙂
I love the first signs of spring when you know you have all the rest to come. Glorious.
Thank you for the trip around the park! We had 6 inches of snow here yesterday but I left it off the blog as I wanted it to go away, so I ignored it!!! RJ is so lovely. I bet he would have enjoyed seeing all the birds in the park! x
Hello Vivienne,
I have enjoyed my walk around the park with you today!…Now I feel that Spring is just around the corner despite this cold weather…The geese are wonderful and R.J is so handsome, isn’t he?…He’s looking very dignified there too….

Our snow has all but gone now and, thankfully, the temperature has moved up quite a bit. We’ve actually been able to turn the heating off again which is a relief, seeing as it’s been on constantly for the last few days.
Give that kitty cat a big cuddle x
Oh the park looks lovely! Those geese with attitude look like a gang to hang out with 🙂 Hope the weather keeps getting warmer.
Yay let’s hope you are right and Spring is definitely on it’s way!! As I mentioned over at mine, we didn’t have much snow at the weekend, but it was oh so cold! 8 degrees sounds quite warm doesn’t it?? 🙂 R.J is such a beautiful cat, thats a great picture of him. Have a lovely rest of the week xxx
Good morning Vivienne, what different weather you got at the weekend! We got some snow..it was actually quite fun. Lovely to see pre Spring in your beautiful park and to see some sunshine! As for 8oc that is tropical! Dear little RJ what a cutie he is, cats just love being up high don’t they. Must dash as off to my silversmithing class. Have a great day,
Speak soon,

Gorgeous cheering pictures 😀 We didn’t get snow (which I love) or spring … just miserable icy, damp, gloom 🙁
Cute puss cat … we have a kitty who lives three doors down and sits on the corner of next doors conservatory like that, staring into our garden … he likes to torment the whippets !!
Looks like pre-spring to me!! There is plenty of snow and ice here and your photos cheered up a Tuesday morning, Vivienne!!
I loved seeing the swans, geese and crocus.
best wishes,
Anne

I so love walking in your park with you! It looks very Springy and I hope it will remain so for a while more at least. Here in central USA we are getting all manner of weather. It’s been a very strange winter – but under Sunday’s little snowfall is green grass making a big effort to show itself and many, many bulb plants are up and running.
LOL! I love that photo of the single goose. Reminds me of Jemima Puddleduck. (I know, not the same animal, but still … )
Dear Vivienne,
Your park looks lovely! It gives us Finns hope, we’ll have something similar in three-four months 😉 And that sweet little cat, he’s really on top of everything there!
Have a wonderful week!
Yours,
Mia
I enjoyed the walk in your pre spring park today, Vivienne! So many signs of spring there, and I especially loved seeing the catkins and the bright blue sky. How cute is the kitty on the roof!! It’s sunny and chilly here today, hope you’re enjoying a happy and sunny pre spring week!

Congratulations on your blogger award Vivienne!
Thankyou for sharing these photos without snow! I like the geese too – as you say, they have attitude! We had 6″ of snow and even though the roads are now clear it is still lying everywhere.
I like to think of those little buds quietly forming in spite of the cold – hope springs eternal.
Gill xx

Thanks for the ramble through your park, lily x
Hi Vivienne, your weather is looking as kind as it was in Wales. What a cheeky goose and isn’t RJ just the most inquisitive cat. Wow those catkins are early, spring may be in the air! x
what a beautiful sky photo…so blue.
are you ready for some snow tonight???
stay warm
love jooles x
You’re landscape is like our landscape! We had a hint of snow which melted quickly, sadly. The Geese are beautiful, and your cat is adorable! Vanessa xxx
