Home countryside My Snowy Park

My Snowy Park

by greenrabbitdesigns

You’ll remember I introduced you to ‘my park’ here, well today I’m going to take you on another park walk but this time it’s a snowy one!

Yesterday afternoon we got wrapped up put our boots on and took ourselves off for a wintery walk.

We had what I consider to be the right amount of snow, enough to make the park and gardens pretty and festive but not too much so that the country came to a standstill. The roads were clear and everyone could get about their lives.

The park looked stunning in it’s covering of snow!

Although a lot had thawed due to the morning sunshine, the greenery still had a little frosting.

The lake had frozen around the edges and the wildfowl were going for a walk along the top of it.

The sun was beginning to set and the sky was beautiful.

It’s such a novelty for us to get ‘Christmas card’ photos like this at this time of year!

The silhouettes of the bullrushes against the sky and frozen lake were brilliant.

Yes it was cold but it was very beautiful and it felt good to get outside and have a good walk to blow away the cobwebs.
We never take for granted what a privilege it is to live near this wonderful park!

Have a great week everyone and if it’s possible wrap up warm and get out there and enjoy the season! 🙂

Beautiful – completely and utterly beautiful.

Such wonderful wintry images – gosh I feel like I’m gushing – sorry – but they are.

Have a lovely day,

Such beautiful pictures of your snowy park! I love the atmosphere you’ve captured, especially that pinky look the clouds around the sun have in snowy weather. Walking in the cold, well wrapped up – wonderful!
Enjoy your snowy week. Helen x

So lovely! I love a bit of snow, as long I don’t have to drive in it. So far we just have extremely low temperatures but no snow. It is forecast to arrive tomorrow much to the excitement of the girls.
Keep warm, my dear x

Brrr – it all looks rather chilly, but definitely beautiful.
We ventured over to family in Nottm on Saturday and they’d had far more snow than us. Violet was desperate to make a snowman, but it was freezing.
Enjoy your Winter Wonderland.

How wonderful our season’s are! I love the changing trees and shadows…beautiful photos Vivienne. I know what you mean by “just the right amount” of snow, we have still escaped but may wake up to some tomorrow morning :0)(small squeal of excitement), you know me I am such a kid with snow/Christmas etc.
Keep warm and enjoy the walks.

One of my favorite things is to be outside in the early winter when the air is cold and you can bundle up without getting too hot. How blessed you are with your lovely park right near by. Thank you for sharing!

Absolutely beautiful photos – I am considering printing that bullrush one out and framing it as a calming image to have by me! Lovely walk but I bet you were glad to get back indoors at the end of it?

Wonderful pictures of the change in seasons. We often take for granted or complain about a few of the seasons that make it a little inconvenient to get around.

What we don’t realize is how blessed we are to experience mother natures changes. The calming rest of winter, the refreshing feeling of new in spring, the warm sunny summer, and the settling of fall. All so beautiful.

So pretty – and it’s lovely to see the same place in summer and winter, it’s the same yet totally different.

What a wonderful holiday-feeling you sent me via these pictures, thank you, Viv!

Yours,
Mia

Hi Vivienne! I really feel that I am back now, since my holiday finished I don’t seem to have hit the trail again, but now I am on it again! Thank you for your comments and for Bella hugs! She is sprawled on my knee and her head keeps flopping over the key board! She would have loved to have gone on your walk in the park, it looks so inviting. I wonder if you have a dog? If you do I wont let Bella know ….. she thinks you are her special friend :0)
Love your Moo cards!
Enjoy the snow and a hot cuppa tea by your lovely coal fire!
