Home flowers my week

my week

My week has been much the same as every other week lately, I haven’t been here at my blog as often in recent weeks because I feel I am repeating myself. Truth is I haven’t been doing anything different of late and I haven’t a lot to tell other than show photos of my garden and my bunnies and that’s ok with me really, I like a quiet life pottering around but I realise that can be a bit boring for others. Life was a bit full on leading up to my daughter’s wedding and I’m happy with a quieter pace!

Anyhow back to the garden (sorry), the flowers keep coming!!!

I’m also thinking about next years flowers too, these are little delphiniums sown from the seeds of this years flowers, I have also sown some some poppies too from seeds that the very kind Debbie from Serendipity Patch sent to me.

We are also beginning to get our tomatoes now and they are so sweet, nothing like a home grown tomato!

We’re enjoying our courgettes now too.

There is a lot of pleasure in coming back in from the garden with your own home grown produce!

There has been a bit of bunny-ing this week but nothing completed due to an upside down house and the work involved in putting it right! We have been decorating again, our bedroom, which is now finished and the room which was my daughter’s bedroom and is now going to become my craft room. So I am looking forward to that, although a trip to Ikea looms, in order to kit it out.

I did manage to crochet some flowers this week but they’re not finished yet either!

This is something I want to share with you all, this little bookmark arrived in the post this week, it is hand painted and extremely cute. It was made by Leonor of Felt Buddies on Facebook. She is making and selling them to raise money for two animal charities, one in the UK and one in Portugal. They are only £1.50 each + postage, are so pretty and are for two really good causes. If you have a minute take a look at her page.

So that was my week, same as usual, just the way I like it! Next week will be a little more lively, my son who now lives in Berlin will be home for a few days and we have a wedding at the end of the week. One of my daughter’s bridesmaids is getting married and she will be bridesmaid for her, it will be nice though to be just a guest this time around!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, thanks as always for dropping by, hope I haven’t bored you too much! 🙂

how lucky are you to have a new craft room somewhere to store all your yarn, fabric and buttons

Hello dear Vivienne,

I love reading about your week, and it’s funny as you think it’s “just an another week” and there are tons of new flowers, a new craft room coming (!!! can’t wait to see it!!!), some son-news (is he rock-starring in Berlin?), a wedding to come, new bunnies – a lot! Your posts always put a smile on my face, thank you!

Happy weekend, dear friend, we are jumping in a bouncy castle here…yes, and another year has passed, and it’s the 5th b-day!

Yours,
Mia

The extremes people go to to get their own craft room!!!! :0)
What a harvest you’ve got in your basket. My home grown toms aren’t even making it into the house – I can’t help but pop them in my mouth just as soon as I’ve picked them. You definitely can’t beat home grown produce. A bumper crop seems to be ripening, just as I’m packing for my holidays – guarantee they’ll all be ready whilst I’m away!
An exciting week for you next week, Vivienne – you must be thrilled to have your son home. And, another wedding – another new dress, and shoes?????
Look forward to catching up with you when I’m back from Dorset.
Wishing you a lovely weekend. xxxxxx

Our garden hasn’t been very successful at all this year – don’t know why – so it’s lovely to see that you have plenty to harvest in yours! Lovely flower photos too. Sometimes life is quiet and samey but that is probably as it should be – I couldn’t cope with excitement all the time could you?!!

That’s fun that your son lives in Berlin! I hope he’s enjoying Germany 🙂 Your garden looks great, I hope to get a post out soon about all the fruits and veggies our garden has produced this summer. How exciting to get a craft room! Can’t wait to see how that comes out 🙂 xo Karen

Good morning dear Vivienne, there is nothing better than a visit to your blog to see what has been growing and created over there…I am never ever bored! How exciting to get a craft room now…you will love having your own creative space which you don’t have to clear away in time for dinner each time. I’m glad S is coming home soon and the wedding sounds fun. Have a lovely weekend, we have just had the most torrential rain this morning which has at last given my parched lawn a good drink ;0) Jane x

How strange you should think we’d be bored! Sometimes it’s just so pleasant to coast along – very happily – filling the days with flowers, gardens, vegetables and bunnies. It feels more like a pause than a boredom – if that makes sense? Enjoy a quieter pace for a little while Vivienne – the roller coaster will be back before long. It’s not the slight change in the season that’s making you feel like this is it?

I love to see your crochet projects and garden photos! How exciting to have your own craft room! You will have to show us when it has been completed. It could serve as your bunny stock room too! x

I swear I can smell those tomatoes from here! Your posts are never boring Vivienne, there is a lot to be said for a quiet life well lived.

Dear Vivienne,

You are right to take it easy and not spend too much time behind the computer yet. The weather is still to beautiful to sit indoors. Your garden still looks colourful.

Good luck with your crochet! I am working on another pillow.

Happy Sunday!

Nothing wrong with a quiet life, I could do with a bit of that here to tell the truth. We have had an eventful weekend so far and it’s only Saturday. Enjoy your home produce, you’re right there is not much finer than that. x

Susan August 25, 2013 - 10:53 am

Good morning Vivienne! I always enjoy my visit here and love to see your beautiful garden, latest bunny progress and your other lovely makes!
It will be fab to have your craft room and IKEA is great for storage, isn’t it?..I’ve just added some new shelves from there and love them…so I’m going back for some more next week!
Happy Sunday!

Hello Vivienne!

I’m sorry I’m a little late for this post! We’ve been making the most of the last days of my husband’s holiday time to declutter, move things around and, yes, we’ve been to Ikea too! I always think that one needs to be fairly adventurous to embark on an Ikea trip and I am SO grateful that my husband is around to carry heavy boxes and construct too!

I’m rather like you, Vivienne: most of the time I like a fairly peaceful pace of life with a little excitement thrown in from time to time 🙂

It’s always a pleasure to pop over and visit you 🙂

Are you kidding? Your blog is one of my favorites. No matter what you are doing – your photos are lovely and a stroll through your garden or your park can brighten many a dull day. Not to mention the bunnies! Gotta love the bunnies. Don’t you just adore sweet peas?

thelinencat September 3, 2013 - 6:26 pm

Clearly everyone else has said it, but your posts are not boring and we wouldn’t keep dropping by if they were. I’m like you, I actually quite like a nice quiet routine (with the odd highlight to keep things fresh, just not too often!!), I feel calmer and more at one and all that, when I’m sewing away in my room. I hope the studio is coming along, it’ll be great to have a work space of your own, I’m trying to figure out a way to boot the boys playroom out of the other half of mine, as they CANNOT stick to their own side – hee hee.
