This burst of yellow is an antidote to all that white out there in blogland today and comes from my lovely bunch of daffodils that have been brightening up my living room this weekend.
I think this little corner of the UK got off quite lightly with snowfall. It did snow on Friday evening and the quiz we were to go was called off, as is always the case here when a few flakes fall everything gets cancelled but by Saturday morning the snow has disappeared almost everywhere.
My son’s birthday got well and truly celebrated and a good time was had by all, snow definitely didn’t stop play!
Just to prove that I’m telling the truth about having no snow, these photos were taken in my garden this morning.
Even though we’ve had little snow it has been cold and has definitely been crochet by the fire time, I even gave the park a miss this weekend but bunny making did take place instead.
Now as I type this, flakes of snow are falling but we did have a bit of rain this morning and the ground is quite wet so it’s disappearing as soon as it lands. Hopefully it will continue to do so because this IS pre~spring and there is NO place for any white stuff!!!
Happy new week everyone! 🙂

That daffodil took me by surprise at first – I thought it was the real start of spring! That said, before the snow covered them, I did spy some bulbs starting to push through the earth… they weren’t as advanced as yours though!
hi, wow that daffodill is a stunning photo…..snow is more slush in my part of he world, best wishes, ali
Spring flowers are such a joy! Looking forward to seeing the new bunny too.

I don’t do snow either Vivienne. I always used to love to see those first bunches of daffodils on the market stalls in January.
Is that a little Valentine girl I spy there? I see lots of pretty hearts on the fabric.
We had some signs of daffodils but they are now covered by lots…. Of snow 🙂 it’s great to see you had such a lovely weekend
Thank you for bringing Spring to me Vivienne! I have some tulips in a jug indoors so at least I can pretend it is Spring in the house!!! x
Oh, your garden looks pretty already, Vivienne, it’s like ours in April/May! I wish it’s not snowing that badly at yours, so we get to enjoy these green pictures here! And an another pretty bunny in making… Lovely!
Happy week, dear friend!
Yours,
Mia
I can always count on you, Vivienne, for a touch of spring! I’m jolly glad Stuart’s birthday wasn’t cancelled due to snow 😉 And who is that little Miss Bunny we can spot? A romantic at heart, perhaps? 🙂
We just have no end of snow right now and I try to be optimistic but actually…when I wake up to the sound of the neighbor’s shovel before my alarm clock goes off, it does strong positive thinking to haul myself out of bed 🙂 oh well! at least the boys are having fun sledding. Pretty flowers! xo K
How lovely to see a bright yellow daff, and signs of more to come in the garden – and no layer of the white stuff.
Hope the snow came to nothing for you Vivienne – sadly we got some serious stuff here on Sunday, putting a stop to signs of pre-spring around here – hope my newly planted violas and cyclamen come through it unscathed.

Thanks for sharing your weekend, Vivenne.
Too much snow and cold here. Lovely to see your glimpses of spring.
Can’t wait to see the next bunny……

I’m glad you’ve avoided most of the snow Vivienne as it looks like your garden is really getting ready for spring. We’ve had quite a bit and I’ve quite enjoyed it but have had enough now and feel ready for some warmer weather! Bunny making in cold weather is definitely a good activity 🙂 xxx
I’m with you – so done with snow. It’s so very very cold here in the mornings and at night. Can’t wait to see beautiful flowers starting to come up like yours.
Your lovely flowers brighten me up – all is white here in snowy Yorkshire! Maggie.
Gorgeous colours in your post today, Vivienne! Just what we need to brighten up our grey and white wintery world! The top one is like sunshine! Have a happy day and keep cosy!

That’s the first daffodil I’ve seen this year Vivienne, I’m not sure I’ve seen any in the supermarket yet either, although I haven’t been out much with the snow still. Sounds like a good birthday weekend. Have a good week. x
what a lovely cheery daffodil, it made me smile.
Happy belated birthday to your son :o)
love jooles xxx
Pre-Spring? Oh goodness, we are smack dab in the middle of winter here, I’m afraid Spring is a long way off. No snow at our house either. I am so impressed with those shoots coming up in your garden! My Daphne just now has the smallest of buds and I am so looking forward to the blooming soon!
Love the little sneaky peeks of your makes! Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Vivienne…Lots of snow here again today!…Sitting by the fire with your crochet sounds perfect just now…(I’ve seen Valentina and she is a little beauty!)
Happy Weekend,
Susan x
