Nordic Bag

by greenrabbitdesigns

I have finished my Nordic bag and I thought I would share it with you before I pop it in my shop.

I have lined it with a tartan fabric which I think and hope goes well with the nordic theme.
As well as the Scandinavian pattern I also added a few little cables to the top of the bag.

Two little matching corsages have been crocheted too. One in red with a tartan (the same as the bag lining) covered button and a cream one with a little cross-stitched snowflake, I haven’t cross-stitched in years (I hope it’s ok Helen)!!!

I have amazed myself (and no doubt Mia and Jane as well!!!!) at how much I have enjoyed making these ‘C’ themed items. I still can’t use the word, not yet, it’s too soon! 🙂

Before I go I just what to mention a giveaway I was lucky enough to win. It was from the lovely Amanda at Itchin’ Stitchin’ and I won some beautiful gift cards to download from her new Etsy shop but as well as the pretty cards I chose she also sent me my own personal Green Rabbit cards, don’t they look great! Thanks Amanda!

And finally, finally I just want to share this photo with you …………..

R.J. and his baby sister Jessie ~ heartmelting!!! 🙂

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Your ‘C’ themed items are beautiful Vivienne, red is my favourite colour and the corsages are a gorgeous accent for the bag. Congratulations on winning the giveaway. x

Your Nordic red and white bag is absolutely gorgeous, Vivienne, from the sweet little knitted pattern, the cables and the matching lining to the adorable corsages! I loved the one with the little cross stitch button centre!! (Thank you for mentioning me too!) Your cross stitch skills haven’t left you even if you haven’t done any for ages.
I am not ready to fully embrace the festive season yet either, but a few wintry things and a bit of seasonal sewing, knitting and crochet are perfect for November days. Enjoy your week and your cosy crafty times.

Dear, dear Vivienne,

I am so happy to see you enjoy the C-themed crafts too! Your bag and the corsages are so beautiful! I just received my Arne&Carlos-book today (more of it in my blog tomorrow, hopefully) and it is amazing, full of Scandinavian and other beautiful patterns!

Have a wonderful week, dear friend!

Yours,
Mia

Crochet, cables, cross-stitch., cats and CHRISTMAS!!!!! There, I said it for you!!! The bag is lovely especially with the tarten lining. The green rabbit cards are great and I love the cuddling kitty cats. Jessie looks so contented! x

Intarsia and cables all in the same item?!?! That is beyond my knitting skills. But the lovely snowflake motifs make me want to give intarsia another go. Maybe I’ll start small with a mug cosy.

Your finished bag is beautiful Vivienne and I am so glad you are feeling slightly more in the festive mood ;0) Mia and I will drag you along into Christmas as soon as we can…knitting needles and all!! The lining for your bag is perfect and your finishing touches with the clever corsages finish everything off. Gorgeous! What a lovely blog win you had, your gift cards are great and very useful. As for your last photo…what dear sweet kittens they are….they must know just how lucky they are with you watching over them. It’s been another stunning sunny day here, I still do not see any cold weather in sight. Hope you are keeping cosy, have a lovely evening,

Lovely bag Vivienne and I approve of the lining too. I’m working on a tartan something myself at the moment as it happens!
Love the rabbit cards, very nice indeed and as for those cute moggies ..

So happy you are enjoying your cards!!

I must say I am shocked to see Holiday – “C” crafties in the works from you 🙂 but what a pleasant surprise. The bag is gorgeous like always.
Thanks for the mention of the new shop as well. Warm Wishes

It’s not too early for Christmas Vivienne, we’re halfway through November…. embrace it!! hehe. I LOVE your new bag, so festive, you know my love of the red and white…. it’s just gorgeous! As are the corsages with the little buttons, your cross stitch turned out really well, it finishes them off perfectly! Hope you have a lovely rest of the week – was bitterly cold here today, hope it’s a bit warmer where you are! xxx

The bag is really lovely – makes me think of snow and sunshine rather than the damp fog which seems to have settled over us here!

Hi Viv,

I saw the bag and the corsages in your shop and it was “love at first sight”!! I love anything Scandinavian especially at C-time.
I was wondering if you made the buttons yourself and now I know. You are so talented. Congratulations on winning the giveaway. Those tags look lovely. My nieces would enjoy your cat photo.

The Nordic bag has come out brilliant Vivienne, it’s festive but not in your face festive if you now what I mean. I suppose in a nutshell it’s like a wonderful winter woolly and the tartan sets it off beautifully.
Cute cats.
The pictures could only be better if you got the cats to sit in the bag and pose! x
