Well the weather didn’t turn out too bad today in this neck of the woods anyway! I was expecting to be under three feet of snow after listening to the weather forecast yesterday, if you are under three feet of snow… sorry, but I am glad its not me!
I did a bit of tidying in the garden yesterday, lifting some bedding that I knew would never survive frost and cutting back a few plants, I do hate removing plants that are still in bloom though. So my cosmos are still in situ and still blooming, how long for, well I don’t know, the weather forecast for tonight doesn’t sound too good either but hopefully its wrong too!
This morning we had what could only be described as a bit of sloppy snow which disappeared as soon as it hit the ground, afterwards the sun came out and I went outside to take some photos, it was chilly but bright.
Still lots of colour out there!!!
Happy Tuesday from me and today’s gardening assisitant…..Jess! 🙂

At first I thought the leaves on the tree were birds Vivienne, robins actually! I must get my eyes tested! Jess has the sweetest face. x
Still lots of colour in your garden Vivienne!
Glad you didnt get the white stuff either, fingers crossed it stays that way!

so beautiful
I was worried that we were going to wake up to a carpet of the white stuff outside this morning, but I was wrong. We may not have had any snow, but it’s been blummin cold. I’ve been thankful of my new colourful mittens. They keep my hands toasty.
Glad to see that there’s still plenty of life and colour in your garden for you and Jess to enjoy.

Hi Vivienne and Jess, I am glad your snow did not materialise. Sorry to rub it in but here in sunny Surrey it’s been wall to wall sunshine all day..but I must admit very chilly indeed. It’s good to see some last colour in the garden. Keep snug and I hope the snow does resist….at the weekends it’s OKish but during the week is just such a pest as everything stop! I just enjoy designer snow that lasts a few hours when I don’t need to go anywhere ;0) Jxx
Jess is a lovely marked cat. You get a lot of pleasure from your garden ….thanks for sharing your photos
Your gardening assistant doesn’t look too pleased with the weather or the flowers or both does she? Mind you if I was out in my bare feet I’d not be too pleased this weather either! Lovely photos and still so much colour about.
All that color looks so crisp and fresh against that chilly, bleak weather you’re having. And what a handsome assistant you have!
It’s lovely to still see so much colour V. I saw someone tweet some snow pics on the hills over Northern Ireland today so I can appreciate how chilly it is. Jess looks sweet 🙂 x
So lovely to see such bright colours on a grey winter morning and I love the pic of your garden helper.
lovely harvest blooms love the beautiful colors have a lovely weekend
What a beautiful – and eclectic – mix of flora and fauna! I love how amidst the autumnal yellows and oranges and browns there are still the odd pops of bright pinks! Confused little flowers! 😉 Chrissie x
I love seeing your beautiful seasonal garden in your part of the world. Have a great weekend. Christine
Hello Vivienne Your garden still has lots of colour and your photos are lovely. Today is cold and windy here but still no sign of snow! Keep cosy!

Great photos. Do you know the name of that gorgeous chrysanthemum?
Chloris
Oh, yes! Lots of color still. So nice for this late in the year to still see some blooms. Our autumn has moved from brilliant to brown after a few frosty mornings – but that’s OK – as it’s moving us into winter. LOLOL – I think I’m the only one who likes it. Happy day to you Vivienne. Hope the flowers last a while longer.
Your garden still looks beautiful Vivienne! I did the same last weekend. I cut back the Dahlia’s and other annuals.Everything looks bare again. Can’t wait for the spring to arrive. Already miss the flowers :-)!
Have a lovely evening!

Love the leaves against the sky pic … I’ve been out taking similar ones, I must try to get them posted!
the garden looks lovely, the dahlias are still looking great. I am looking forward to seeing a good hoar frost in the garden. We had a fair bit of snow, we always do here in Newtownabbey. Of course when I got into town it was a different day entirely!
How lucky you are to have some lingering blossoms and a cute helper,
Happy Creating, dear Vivienne,
from snowy America,
Anne and all
I do love pictures from your garden Vivienne, you have such beautiful flowers and a lovely gardening assistant!
Don’t you just love good old cosmos! Ours are also still blooming. I hope you are still snow free, we would love some over here (kids get hyper in snow, but it’s nice to see them so excited). Bethx
