Home flowers Paloma

This was the sky late this afternoon, I’m almost afraid to say it but I think spring may be thinking about staying with us. Now it was still quite chilly but if you could find a little sheltered spot there was some warmth in the sun.

The forget-me-not’s are just beginning to open and there is quite an abundance of daffodils in bloom now and the evenings, oh the evenings are lovely, still light until almost 9 o’clock. The thing I love most about the longer evenings is listening to the blackbirds singing, you can tell that they’re happy too. So I think we can safely say this time that spring has sprung!!!

On the subject of birds, I have a new little bird to share with you!

Paloma Collage

This little lady with her whites and greys reminded me so much of a little dove that I named her Paloma! I know the photos look like I have turned them to black and white but no, those are her colours. I’m actually quite jealous of Paloma with her Orla Kiely skirt!!! Her cardigan is crocheted in grey cotton and she is made from an angora mix yarn so she is soft and fluffy.

Well let’s hope this lovely weather sticks around for a little while longer, I purposely didn’t look at the weather forecast because if it’s not good I don’t want to know!

Thanks as always for you visits and lovely comments and have yourselves a wonderful weekend! ūüôā

A very lovely skirt indeed! And such a nice blue sky. It’s been so terribly rare here, what a cold and gloomy spring break we’ve had. But the birds are singing nonetheless and I’m enjoying hearing them – also enjoying the longer evenings too.

Paloma is the cutest, Vivienne, that blue cardigan is so beautiful (wouldn’t mind having one just in that shade)! I wish your weekend will continue in beautiful weather, it’s been pretty and sunny and WARM (+8c today!), fingers crossed it’ll stay!

I love this bunny! I finished an Alicia Paulson Maggie bunny and put photos on my blog, did you see it? I am inspired by yours to crochet a sweater for her. I added your blog to my list. ((hugs)), Teresa ūüôā

Good evening Vivienne, please send those blue skies over to Surrey for the weekend. We had snow all day yesterday and today has just been grey and dull. I so agree about the light though….a week has made such a difference in fact we were late eating as I didn’t realise the time. Paloma is another cutie and yes I love that Orla fabric….gorgeous. Have a great weekend and fingers crossed for more sunshine and that spring has finally arrived,
Jane x

Hi Vivienne, Thanks for stopping by my blog. Senorita Paloma is sooo lovely!! From her skirt to the stitches in her cardigan. She makes a big impact with the subtle colors. Whoever gets her is lucky, indeed.

Happy late Friday,

Vivienne your photos are just stunning! Blue sky, forget-me-nots and daffy’s how lovely. Speaking of lovely, Paloma is so dove-like and beautiful. I’m with Mia, I would love a sweater like her’s only a bit larger!
Sunny here but still chilly, most of the snow is gone and I hope for good.
Happy weekend to you, xoRobin

Isn’t this spring weather wonderful. It is still a little chilly but I did actually take my coat off outside today. Paloma is very pretty. I only just noticed the cute little bobtail on my rabbit yesterday… so sweet!

dottycookie April 6, 2013 - 8:19 pm

Her skirt is perfect – isn’t it amazing how the Orla print completely changes character at that scale?

Simone April 6, 2013 - 8:42 pm

Paloma is delightful in her ‘designer’ skirt! I would like a skirt like that too! I have just noticed the scallop edge to her cardigan – a lovely touch. Spring came to visit today and I got a bit done in the garden. I don’t care if it rains as long as it warms up a bit so that plants can grow and not stay dormant. Some sunshine would be nice too!!! x

Glad to hear that the weather has been improving for you over in Ireland, and I am pleased to say that it has been improving here over the last few days too! Like you we have had some lovely sunshine & the wind has even dropped now so it is starting to warm up! Fingers crossed that spring is here to stay! x

Paloma is so pale and elegant!

Think you’ve been having better weather then we have, and no sign of our forget-me-nots yet!

Hope its still sunny for you, we’re back to the grey and rain here.
