Poinsettia Bag

by greenrabbitdesigns

I managed to get on well with my knitting over the weekend and that basket that I showed you all last Friday has become some completed projects.

This is my Poinsettia Bag complete with a removable poinsettia corsage.

It is lined with a pretty poinsettia print fabric.

A great little place to store your candy cane stash!

I have also finished up a little holly corsage.

Complete with shiny red bead berries.

We have started off the week with grey and drizzly weather and at just after four in the afternoon it is starting to get dark. I may be crafting for Christmas but believe me I’m dreaming of spring!

Hope you all have a lovely week! 🙂

Another delightful bag Vivienne. You found the perfect lining fabric for it
Love the holly corsage also.
If it makes you feel better we have had torrential rain today and it has been dark all day.

What a beautiful bag Vivienne with the perfect matching lining! You know just how much I love your holly corsages…I love wearing mine. I hate to rub this in but we continue to have such mild weather. At the weekend it was so mild we sat outside for coffee in Southampton yesterday! Sending you some sunshine and keep on Christmas crafting, I love seeing what you create.
Happy Monday,

A gorgeous bag, I love the colour and the texture. Your knitted and crochet flowers and leaves are always so beautifully done too, Vivienne. Love the pearly beads and the shiny red ones….and how pretty the candy canes look against the bag, so festive! It’s been grey here today too, after the sunny weekend….thank goodness for bright lights and working with bright colours!
Hope the rest of the week gets sunnier for you.

Good for you finishing some of your WIPs, they look really great! And I love the idea of a candy cane stash, think I need to start one of those! I have sympathy with you Vivienne for the rubbish weather – grey wet and horrible here too, have been sewing with all the lights blazing but it was still so dark could hardly see what I was doing! Hope the rest of the week brightens up! xxx

Your poinsettia bag looks great. I like the way you matched the lining and the corsage – such attention to detail!
I haven’t given in to the Christmas candy canes yet. Lebkuchen though – that’s another matter!

You are clever Vivienne….I wish I could knit like you! I have fallen in love with the corsage.

This is a beautiful bag! Look at that texture and the details added are, as usual, just perfect. You have found the perfect harmony between simplicity and detail.

I must say your weather sounds an awful lot more NORMAL than ours. We have had brilliant blue skies and temperatures up to 20°C! It’s just a little strange to behold…

Have a beautiful week and I hope a little of our sunshine comes your way.

What a beautiful and festive bag and I love that the corsage is removable (I’m mid make in tweed bags with removable felt flower brooches at the moment….I’ve been mid make for weeks but can’t muster the energy to finish them!) and the matching lining is perfect, such lovely detail. It’s nice to see some proper festive eye candy on your blog, there is no denying it’ll be here soon enough, I even made a point today of getting my final present lists together! Bx

Those berries look good enough to eat Vivienne, a lovely festive bag and the lining is so pretty……….these dark days get me down too, I have been knitting with seaside colours to try and combat the gloom. x

Hello Vivienne….I love the colours of your pretty bag (some of my favourites) and the lovely textures…such a clever lady!..
It is becoming darker so early now, isn’t it?…I have to say I prefer those light evenings to work….but Spring will be here before we know it!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. You are clever Vivienne. I have no problem with Christmassy things, everywhere I look there are Christmas trees, tinsel .. even our (thankfully not too near) neighbours have got the twinkly lights on their hedge!! And let’s face it, poinsettias ARE Christmas!

Hi Viv,

I loved seeing your “raw” materials and the finished pieces.
Love everything especially the holly corsage.
Happy crocheting and knitting,

Susie November 26, 2011 - 12:28 am

I’ve just found your blog and am totaly awestruck by your work. Beautifully knitted and crocheted bags and ‘gasp’ your holly brooch! Nothing says Christmas more than holly to me – even though I live in the antipodes! It’s a relic of my years living in the UK… I love your name too – I am a rabbit lover! My favourite toy from childhood was (and is) Blue Bunny. I still have him!
Isn’t blogland wonderful?

Kristyne November 26, 2011 - 10:42 pm

My heart went aflutter when I saw your corsage … my daughter’s name is Holly! 🙂
