Home colour Purple & Yellow

Purple and yellow are the colours of Spring! Now of course they aren’t the only colours but so many of the flowers in bloom at the moment are shades of these colours.

With the exception of the daffodils pictured above, which are in a vase in my living room all the flowers in this post are at present in bloom in my garden. It is great to see the garden come to life again!

There is every shade of yellow from the palest lemon right through to gold and the purple shades vary from lilac to mauve to violet.

Now of course Mother Nature knows what she is doing, purple and yellow are complementary colours on the colour wheel, they are directly opposite each other which makes them go so well together.

The pansies and violas mix the two colours so well. I think violas are the prettiest of little flowers, they look like little faces.

Who better to take my inspiration from for my next project other than Mother Nature herself!

Don’t forget that the giveaway on my last post is still open until midnight on Sunday.

Thanks once again for calling in to see me this week, I hope you all have a wonderful Springtime weekend! 🙂

I would love to be restrained enough just to have purple and yellow in my garden.
I am however going for that colour scheme in the gravel in my front garden :o)

Purple is my favourite colour so I do like your flower photos and the crochet pansies are just adorable. They are as delicate as those little icing pansies you see on Easter cakes.

I know what you mean. For some reason a lot of the flowers in my garden seem to be purple throughout the year. I’m having to make a conscious decision to try and NOT purchase purple and to put some more colour into the garden. It’s weird really as although I like purple it’s not what I would call my favourite colour but I do seem to have a lot of it in my garden lol!!! 🙂

Lovely pics. I think we must live in some kind of bubble as nothing is really flowering yet.

What beautiful flowers in your garden, and what lovely crocheted pansies! Do you have a pattern which you can share with us? I would love to make some for my mum for mothers day.

Thank YOU for sharing these pretty images, Viv! I loves all the flowers, and especially that we’ve had inches of snow coming again during the last day or two *sigh* these cheered me up greatly!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mother Nature certainly knows her stuff, your flower collection is stunning. I was given a lovely bouquet of flowers that other day and one of the kittens did some deadheading for me. I think it will be a while before we have any more flowers in our house, grrrrr !!! Your knitted pansies are lovely, clever you x

Happy weekend.

Spring colours are my favourites Vivienne and I think that yellows and blues are perfect combos. Your little pansy crochets are so very clever and I like the fabric behind there…beautiful. Thanks for some lovely spring photos, its not so sunny here today but still very mild. Have a great weekend!
