There’s no escaping red, white and blue this week as the nation is decorated to celebrate the wedding of Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton in Westminster Abbey tomorrow.
I don’t like to be left out of these things and I’ve added a bit of decoration to my garden too, of course in red, white and blue!!
My knitting also had a red, white and blue theme this week. With the help of my graph paper (I had to get it right) I designed and knitted a Union Jack bag.
I also had to get my souvenirs of the big occassion and as I don’t plan to do much cooking tomorrow as I will be in front of the television all day at least we can have tea and biscuits! 🙂
The bunting is up and we are ready to celebrate!!
I would like to send my very best wishes to William and Kate and I hope they have lifelong happiness. I hope that after the ‘big day’ apart from official engagements, they will be left alone to enjoy their marriage in private and that lessons have been learnt from the past.
I’m sure you will join me in a toast to the royal couple.
To William and Kate!!!!!
Enjoy the day! 🙂

You are READY and everything looks amazing. Enjoy every moment!!! I plan on watching, I have to get up at 4:30 AM to see it all. BUT I will be up with a pot of tea and crumpets. I will pretend I’m with all my UK blogger friends!!!!!!!!!! xoRobin❤
Yes indeed Vivienne, cheers to William and Kate. I am so looking forward to tomorrow. I shall also be having tea out of my Royal Wedding cup and saucer and I really do wish this couple all the very best. I actually think that they are heading into this with their eyes wide open and have the chance to make a very solid marriage together. Here’s wishing them a long happy life ahead. Enjoy the celebrations, Jane x
Your garden is looking very regal there and your union jack bag is wonderdful!
Vivienne your new Union bag design is fantastic and wouldn’t look out of place with a Vivienne Westwood label on and a HUGE price tag, is it just a coincidence you share the same name!
Hope you enjoy your days viewing tomorrow, there doesn’t seem to be much going on anywhere in E. Yorks that I’ve seen evidence of and I’m bogged down with work so it’s kind of passed me by.
Happy long weekend x
I love the bag, very appropriate.
I too hope that they will be left alone as much as possible.
Have a lovely long weekend.

I will join you in your toast ‘to William and kate!’ You are so well organised getting in the tea and biscuits! The Union Jack bag is stunning – clever you! x
Here’s to the Royal couple!
I LOVE the new bag, Viv, it’s just fantastic! And all your wedding-deco, makes me so happy! I’ll for sure be watching it all tomorrow!
Yours,
Mia
I don’t think I will be watching it live – 6am here is a little too early for me. I will be sure to watch the highlights – can’t wait to see what the bride is wearing.
I love all your red, white and blue, Vivienne! The Union Jack bag is fabulous, so clever. The biscuits are a good idea – no time for any of us to cook anything tomorrow! Have a great day, and a lovely weekend too.

Wow, love your new bag Vivienne!! Looks great! You certainly are ready – you definitely put me to shame, I have nothing in terms of decorations ready – too busy tidying and organising my ribbons for that, haha! Hope you have a great day watching it all and a lovely weekend too! xx
I’m a big Lady Di fan from back in the day. Enjoy the party! Terrific bag 🙂
Beautiful Union Jack Bag, looks like you’re all ready to celebrate this momentous occasion, we are celebrating the day in the grounds of our City Cathedral.
I’ll join you in raising a glass to William and Kate, God Bless them at the begining of their new life together.

Such an emotional, beautiful , uplifting ceremony, I enjoyed it immensely and shed a tear or two when they spoke their vows.
Glad you enjoyed it too Vivienne.

Hi Vivienne, You have really excelled yourself with this Union Jack bag! I love to see our flag, it is so patriotic and not seen as often as it used to be. Do you remember sitting in the cinema and the National Anthem being played? That must have been in the good old days!
I love your bluebell woods too, here in Oxfordshire I have been enjoying my walks in the bluebell woods and through the rape seed fields, I love the contrast of the blue and yellows.
Have a lovely weekend,
Val xx
It really was a special day, makes you proud to be British 🙂
I love your Union Jack bag, it is fab!!
I also lover your souvenirs, where did you find them?
Hope your enjoying this bank holiday weekend 🙂 xxxx
you are such a clever knitter..the bag is beautiful! such lovely work.
i did so enjoy the wedding :o)
love your souvenir biscuit tin. pity i didn’t manage to purchase any such memorabilia, it’s one of the drawbacks of being agoraphobic :o( still nevermind i had such wonderful day sharing a pile of ‘posh’ home-made sandwiches and cakes with my daughter who loved watching the event as much as i did :o)
wishing you a happy and magical May Day
warmest hugs
millie
Vivienne, love the flowers and I’m with you on being happy about the wedding. I watched it all too, although recorded it so I could sleep through the night here in Oregon, USA. Hope you pop over to my blog and see my flowers in bloom here! Hugs, Teresa
