Well it’s not quite Scandinavian knitting, just a little bit of it!
There is a lot of this pattern about at the moment I suppose it’s the ‘C’ influence, the surprise is me choosing to do some ‘C’ knitting this early.
I must be embracing the season to come, amazingly!!!
I even found this little matching tin in a local shop this morning for the bargainous price of £3.29!
Not only was it a brilliant price for the tin but it came full of cookies too!
These are exactly the little pleasures that help get it us through the dark days of late autumn and winter. That is what ‘Making Winter’ organised by Silverpebble and Thrifty Household is all about! Celebrating the good things about winter. Now I must admit I struggle with finding the good in winter but perhaps this little project will help and before we know it, it will be spring!
Check out this link to find other ‘Making Winter’ posts and there is also a dedicated flickr pool too.
It certainly wasn’t winter-like here today as we had a beautiful day and the weekend ahead looks good too. Great news as this little corner of the globe is buzzing as the MTV European Music Awards are being held here this weekend. So as we are going shopping in Belfast tomorrow, you never know I may bump into Lady Gaga in M&S! 😉
Hope you all have a great weekend too! 🙂

Gosh, your knitting is so neat!
That biscuit tin was a great find. Have a great weekend!
‘Tis lovely, dear Vivienne! I myself adore winter so this post is simply lifting me higher in Winter Euphoria Land!
Your knitting is so perfect! I am full of admiration.
Oh I love it!! Such a gorgeous pattern and I really love the red and white skandi combination! I have been doing a bit of crochet in red and white too! Love the biscuit tin as well. Hope you have a wonderful shopping trip, and look forward to hearing if you bump into anyone from the MTV awards! Have a great weekend, Vivienne.

That knitting looks so bright and cheerful, and the little tin is adorable! You really are embracing the season here Vivienne 😀
The knitting looks gorgeous and so does the tin of cookies. Enjoy your weekend! x
I had to rub my eyes that this is your blog I am reading Vivienne, perhaps Mia and I are making you embrace our favourite time of year ;0).
Your festive knitting is quite beautiful….. I wonder what you are making with it? As for the tin, what a find…I am such a tin girl and when they contain biscuits, even better.
Enjoy your weekend…only 51 days to “C” day now my friend,

Oh Vivienne, I love your knitting so much! I am having a complete obsession with anything red and white, anything fair isle and anything scandinavian at the minute!!! I want to learn to knit just so I can knit like that!!! Will add it to my long ‘to do/to learn’ list… sigh! Anyway, hope your weekend is fun and sunny, enjoy your shopping! Jenny xx
the ‘C’ word is defitnitly a scary one!! Your knitting looks rather complicated! Wish I had the paitence to try it! 😉
Oh… I love that red and white knitting (although I’m ignoring the approach of the festive season)
Beautiful knitting love it so Christmassy ( if there’s such a word lol!) & what a gorgeous tin ~ happy crafting Marie x
I have a real weakness for nordic knitting patterns and this is a lovely one. I’m working on some ‘C’ knitting too – I know it will be here all too soon! I’m glad you’ve joined the Making Winter project, hopefully all together we can get through the glum patch with a smile or two. Have a lovely weekend Vivienne and say hi to Lady Gaga!
Love your knitting, Viv! It is such a nice pattern and the tin, wow what a find, a perfect match. The cookies look yummy! Almost the season for lots of them. Have a great weekend, xoRobin❤
Love the Scandi knitting, definitely my colour scheme. And what a scoop to find a matching biscuit tin .. biscuits too, couldn’t be better. I hope they’re not vintage!!!
I love this Vivienne, I’m a big fan of anything Scandi in design. It is very festive and I’d love a biscuit right now to go with my tea!
Hope you have an interesting shopping trip.

Viv, Love the red and white knitting AND the tin, both. One of my aunts was born and raised in Denmark. ( Your knitting looks so Danish!!)
Have fun in the city.

Such beautiful knitting Vivienne! All that red and white is very festive – and not like you at all. Hope you had a good shopping trip in Belfast.

I love your Scandinavian knitting. It reminds me that a new series of The Killing is coming soon on BBC4 (Danish crime drama in which the main character wears Faroese sweaters). I love a bit of red and white too.
I love that red and white knitting! And to find the tin with the similar design.. with cookies inside.. wow! Serendipity! I’ve done Fair Isle knitting in the past with several colors.. it’s really neat.
Teresa 🙂
Hello dear Vivienne,
As Jane said earlier in the comments, we have done our best to get you from summer-girl to a C-babe 🙂 and it seems to be working little by little 🙂 just kidding, of course dear, but oh how beautiful your knitting is! And the matching tin too, lovely! And oh, please let us know which celebrities you’ve had tea with!
Happy new week!
Yours,
Mia
Oh that knitting is truly beautiful. I’m hankering after a cardi in this style. Thankyou so much for joining in with this project Vivienne – it’s been wonderful this last week.
Loving the kitting, the colours are very ‘C’ ish 😉 Bethx
