Nothing signals the beginnings of spring like the pretty little snowdrop!
Any snowdrops I had in my garden have all disappeared over the years, I tried to buy bulbs in the autumn but the garden centre didn’t have any, they said that as soon as they arrived in the shop they were immediately bought up, proving just how popular these little flowers are.
At the weekend as we were driving through a little village close to where we live I noticed little pots of them outside a greengrocers. So we stopped and I bought myself a little pot of snowdrops. I have read that it is better to plant them ‘in the green’ rather than in bulb form anyway, so hopefully I’ll have some in my garden next year.
In the meantime they’re sitting in my kitchen window, where I can enjoy them for a while.
I then, or course, decided I wanted to make my own little Snowdrop!
Usually I can source fabric or a button to fit in with my bunny themes but not this time, I couldn’t find snowdrop fabric or buttons anywhere! So I used some pretty green and white spotty fabric for her skirt and then I made my own snowdrop button using some cross stitch. I don’t think I’ll be taking on any big cross stitch projects though, this was enough for me!!
I do love these lovely fresh spring colours and it really is beginning to feel like spring……..’real spring’! 🙂
Thanks as always for popping in, enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely Valentines weekend!

Lovely photos and a lovely bunny as always Vivienne . We used to have a great variety of snowdrops in our last garden , some lovely frilly ones . Now we just have the bog standard one .

So adorable and your snowdrops are stunning!! I just posted about my Jasmine, etc…..I love flowers and I need more! 🙂
Love the bunny and the snowdrop that inspired it… and seriously love the little button as well. We’ve been the most awful dry sandy storm for a couple of days now, I miss being outside.

Gorgeous inspiration for a gorgeous bunny. The cross stitch button is really sweet.
Can you hear my happy sigh across the Channel, Vivienne? Like many others I adore snowdrops. We are on the road to spring! The last few days, late afternoon, the sun has actually been warm! Oh, joy! Your adorable bunny is the perfect tribute to the sweet snowdrop. Another winner.
Beautiful both the flowers and the bunny!
Good morning Vivienne, what a gorgeous snowdrop post. Next to daffs they are my favourite spring flower, so dainty and pretty. I got the tip of planting them in the green from my Dad. After years of trying bulbs I finally succeeded about 4 years ago and now I have a little clump each year in my front garden. Snowdrop the bunny is stunning, one of my favourites, the green with the pure white works sooo well. Happy Thursday my dear xx
PS I am posting this from my desk top..fingers crossed it reaches you x
I love snowdrops and would enjoy having some. I’ve never seen the bulbs for sale here, I may have to order them online. I’ll have a look in time for next fall. Your new bunny is adorable, she is perfectly snowdrop-like!
Hola, es una flor preciosa y el conejo encantador.
besos
Snowdrop bunny really is the colour of a real snowdrop! She is lovely with her crisp, fresh, green and white theme. That looks like an unusual variety of snowdrop you have there. It even has floppy bunny ears! x
Beautiful snowdrops, and your Snowdrop bunny is so sweet with her fresh green and pure white, just like the flowers! Well done on your cross stitch button too, what a good idea! Have a happy rest of the week, and enjoy the longer lighter days, Vivienne…..spring is almost here!

Gosh Vivienne, the colours of the snowdrop and bunny are uncanny, I love that fresh combination. I hope your new snowdrops will take off for next year as they look very nice healthy ones. Have a good weekend x
Hello V, I love your flowers AND bunny. I always think of Denmark and my Danish aunt when I see snowdrops. Enjoy your warmth; it is bitter cold over here. Happy Valentine’s Day (soon)!! Anne xxx
So pretty Vivienne, we have these too in our garden right now! Happy Valentine’s Day to you! xo Karen
Hello dear Vivienne,
Happy and sunny Sunday! What a beautiful post, those snowdrops are simply stunning and so is your bunny too – with an unique button and all! Spring is definitely in the air – and I love it!
Happy February days!
Yours,
Mia
The same thing happened in my garden Vivienne. The snowdrops disappeared as well. I think it must have had something to do with the soil. Your snowdrop bunny looks beautiful!

She’s just perfect and I LOVE the little cross stitch button. We have loads of snowdrops just outside our garden in the ‘wild’ land that we don’t own, I keep failing in growing them from bulb too, so I just enjoy these from afar. Bethx
