Home bags Strawberries

Strawberries!!
Don’t you just love them. πŸ™‚
I do!
Unfortunately I didn’t grow the ones pictured above.
However mine are coming along nicely and hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy some very soon.

Slowly but surely they’re beginning to ripen.
Just need to make sure I get to them before any other garden visitors do!!
However in the mean time thank goodness for locally grown strawberries.

We enjoyed these delicious strawberries yesterday with lemon shortbread and cream.
The lemon shortbread recipe came from Julia Crossland’s blog.
Thanks Julia for kindly sharing your yummy recipe! πŸ™‚

Strawberries of a different kind now!
The strawberry bag is now completed!

Lined in pretty strawberry fabric……

……and decorated with crocheted strawberries!

While we’re on the subject of bags can I just thank Rachael of Made with Love for featuring one of my bags on her Folksy Friday post.
You can check out all the lovely things Rachael makes and sells through her Folksy shop here.

Anyhow weather’s good, time for the garden.
Make sure you enjoy some strawberries this week ! πŸ™‚

Isn’t it great that something so brightly coloured, so sweet and so yummy is actually good for you! That’s not usually the case! πŸ™‚

Vivienne – you’ve made my mouth water at the thought of lemony shortbread with cool strawberries. Your crocheted strawberries would make a fine brooch I think.

looks like you had a wonderful graduation day with your daughter, as you say the years race by when you have children.

You should try the shortbread, Lisa, it really is delicious.

The graduation day was great, we all really enjoyed it! Although on special occasions like this I think you realise how quickly they grow up!

P.S. Have fun with that gorgeous new kitty of yours! πŸ™‚

The strawberries with the lemon heart shortbread reminds me of Alice in Wonderland! I am just learning to crochet and adore the strawberry purse you made!

MMMmmmmmmmm! These look lovely! I mean the strawberries and the cream and the lemon shortbread, but mostly the strawberry bag!

Hi Alison,
I’m afraid the bag is the only thing that remains, everything else has been eaten! lol

Lovely, lovely bag!

We only grow little Alpine Strawberries, they are so teeny tiny but you get a flavour hit all the same (and the boys like to munch them every time they visit my veg patch). Like the idea of lemon shortbread, must have a go at that!

Oh your bag is just gorgeous, so wonderfully summery :o)

I just found your blog and have been looking through your old posts – well done to your daughter for her excellent result in her degree – I loved her inspiration as I studied Russian an university and it reminded me of the best parts of Russia (the architecture, the arts and crafts etc). Did you know Babushka means Grandmother… I always thought it was a perfectly sounding word for such a lovely person :o)

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your lovely comment!
My daughter would love to visit Russia especially after the huge amount of research she did for her degree.
