Summer Seaside

by greenrabbitdesigns

We’ve had two bank holidays here this week and coupled with the gorgeous weather (up to today that is) it was time to head for the coast which luckily for us is only a 40 minute drive away.

I promise I have not adjusted these photos at all, that really was the colour of the sky and sea! Amazing I know, as we don’t usually get this type of weather.

This little cottage has been in this seaside village for approximately 350 years and has been well perserved and inside, it has lots of little bits of history.

There were plenty of lovely floral displays too.

After a delicious lunch of brie, honey and whiskey tartlets and champ in a local restaurant, we spent the whole afternoon on the beach.

Such a nice way to spend an afternoon, enjoying the sun, the sea air, a spot of beach combing and of course ……..

……..writing your name in the sand!!!

Well as I mentioned earlier unfortunately the good weather is no longer with us. Today has been dull, cold and showery and the forecast for the weekend ahead is to be even worse (sigh). Looks like it’s going to be more of a knitting weekend than a sun worshiping one. Enjoy your weekend whatever you do and whatever the weather. 🙂

Hi Vivienne, I could do with a bit of your seaside jaunt, have not been feeling too good this past week………pesky summer virus. Those photos are amazing, it’s hard to believe the change in the weather…………never mind, as you said it’s good weather for getting on with knitting projects.

The crochet sweet peas in your previous post are gorgeous, such pretty colours.

Have a lovely weekend,

That looks wonderful! You must have had the same lovely day weatherwise that we did yesterday. We Brits have to take advantage of the good weather when we get it don’t we?!

There is nothing like a trip to the seaside is there Vivienne and that’s where I’ve been today as well! Your visit looked perfect and the sea colours so clear. The forecast is not so good for the weekend but I do hope you can get out into the garden at some point.
Take care, Jane x

Looks beautiful, Viv!

It’s not perfect weather here either, but seems that we’ll get some sun. I am sending some on your way asap so your weekend should be getting better any minute 🙂

Happy knitting (I’ll be doing the same!)!

It looks so blue and beautiful in your seaside pictures, Vivienne! You were right to take advantage of the lovely day too now much of the country has turned rainy and blustery! I loved seeing your name and the date in the sand – it will be a nice memory to look back on in the future too. Have a happy day, even if it’s rainy.

Hi Vivienne, I have missed you! Haven’t had an internet connection and so my trips into Blogland have been zero, but it is so good to see what you have been up to again. You do live in a beautiful place ….. but my favourite is your tree :0) I have loved to see it’s development over the year and just now it is in all it’s glory. Thank you for sharing it with us.
love to you … Val xx a BIG lick from Bella X

It looks glorious! Beautiful sky and beach. We have had an awful weekend with no sign of the sun at all! We had better days in March! x

Hello Vivienne,

I am so happy to have found your blog at last. It’ll be wonderful to see what you are up to in the future. Your photographs are stunning! If it’s any consolation it is rainy and windy here in France too.

Warmest wishes,

Margaret July 18, 2011 - 8:11 am

How lovely that you live so close to such beautiful coastline..
Thanks for sharing your pictures. Everything looks just wonderful. I’d love to go inside the pretty little cottage..

What a lovely set of photos, looks such a nice place to get away from it all and enjoy the outdoors. I think we could all do with a bit of that given how dismal the weather forecast looks this week!
And, I hate to say this but I was in a shop on Saturday and they already had some new season autumn cardy’s and jumpers in!
