This year the Summer Solstice falls today on the 20th June and as you can see by our sky we have indeed got a summers day!
It actually seems no time at all since I was on here talking about the shortest day, now where did that half year go to??
I think today needs to be enjoyed because the weather forecast tells us that tomorrow and the next few days are going to be anything but summery.
Two things that none of us have control over ~ time and the weather!
I’m trying not to focus on what the Summer Solstice actually means, the fact that it’s now midsummer and from today onwards the days are getting shorter. That does make me slightly sad.
I am going to focus on the beautiful day and the fact that my garden is a very happy place in the sunshine!

Hola. Feliz solsticio de verano¡¡¡¡ y que jardín tan bonito tienes y que flores….
besos
Scary to think that we are on the downward slope towards the long dark evenings isn’t it especially as we haven’t yet been able to take advantage of the long twilit summery evenings here! You are right to focus on the positive though and your garden looks great.
Your garden is beautiful!!! This year is going by so fast!
Oh Vivienne, how can that happen………….summer will be going away before it’s even been, if you know what I mean…………………maybe we’ll get one of those Indian summers my mum always used to wish for.
Your garden looks beautiful in today’s sunshine…………..best enjoy it while we can.

Hi Vivienne, I am back from a wonderful holiday. I cannot believe where that 6 months has gone but cheer up my friend that means that “C” is on it’s way around (only joking!!) Enjoy the long Summer days, today has been lovely and your garden is looking quite beautiful over there. Speak soon, Jane xx

I know just what you mean about the summer solstice making you kinda sad … and we don’t even seem to have had the sunlight to enjoy the days as they lengthened. Here’s hoping for better weather to come!

It’s scary how fast time flies.
There may have been a lot of rain but your flowers are blooming lovely.
I think you need another Spanish holiday with some guaranteed sunshine!
Wednesday was a beautiful day. I got too hot up at the vineyard without my hat! Yesterday and today is very bleak. Hopefully we will have an Indian summer! I have flowers galore on my blackberries and the roses are doing well. We will just have our summer later in the year that’s all! Have a lovely weeknend Vivienne. x
Hi Vivienne, Enjoy your garden—It looks so lovely. Happy Midsummer and happy Monday. Time is flying fast, almost July!
