Sunday Comforts

by greenrabbitdesigns

It’s a grey, damp and very chilly Sunday, time to seek out some of life’s comforts I think. This is the first time in three weeks that we have all been around the table as a family for Sunday lunch as my son has been away on tour with his band. An apple pie has been baked for pudding as it’s definitely a day for comfort eating!

A new book arrived in the post this week, so as the fire is lit a little book browsing is on the agenda.

Just while I’m on the subject of lovely things arriving in the post, I thought I would share my latest purchase from the lovely Mia, I just had to have it! Have a wee look in Mia’s shop to see all her beautiful creations, actually I see she has put another bunny bag in there ~ stop tempting Mia!! Nothing like a bit of fireside internet shopping. 😉

I’m also in the mood for some Christmas crafting after purchasing these goodies yesterday, I know this will come as a complete surprise to those of you who know that I’m never this festive this early!!

I also have some ideas for some Christmas bunnies too!

So looking outside it seems the perfect day for some cosy living and I have plenty at hand for that today. The televison is good this evening too with all the result shows and Downton Abbey (the last in the series, how did that go so quickly).

Hope you’re having a relaxing, comfort filled Sunday too! 🙂

Of course you know that in my books you can never be too early to start your Christmas festivities Vivienne..;0) Love all that Christmas fabric..can’t wait to see what you make. Enjoy your family dinner I wish I was nearer to bag a piece of your apple pie…mmmmmm. I can’t believe it is the last Downton, I just love that series. I think there might be a Christmas special though. It is a ghastly day here today, so different from yesterday. Keep snug and carry on crafting.

Dear Vivienne,

What a lovely and snug day you seem to be having, that apple-pie looks delicious! Enjoy your family-time, it’s just what’s we’ve been doing here this weekend too! Lovely to see a new C-bunny 🙂 there with all those pretty fabrics, and made my gray day to hear you liked your little bunny-parcel!

Hello Vivienne,

This is just what I needed after returning home from our intense and lovely weekend of birthday celebrations in England! That apple pie looks completely yummy! Pastry is one of my favourite things, I think. And how exciting to see the new rabbits in the making for Christmas.

I wish you and your family a cosy Sunday.

ps Oooh; you son’s in a band, you say? 😉 Which instrument does he play?

Your apple pie looks scrumptious – have you a cutter for the apple or is that done freehand? Your book and Christmas bits for crafting will surely keep you cozily (is that a word?) amused on this chilly day. We have had some snow here!

It all looks so lovely! Your apple pie looks amazing… I could just eat a slice of that! Are the stickers from Paperchase?

It’s the cool weather that does it. Every year when the leaves change and those first frosty mornings start to show up, I get an overwhelming urge to begin the Holidays. I’ve learned, over the years to go slowly in order to prevent early burn-out, but the pleasure of a warm cup of spiced tea, maybe some jolly yarns to think about Christmas crafting, and a snuggly blanket are the first glimmers of the Christmas Spirit.

I wish we already had Downton Abbey on tv in Holland! I liked the first two serials very much. Your purchase from Mia looks lovely.

Good luck with your Christmas sewing!

Ridiculously that bodyless bunny head gave me the shivers … poor little thing 😉

Yummy pie … I never seem to make apple pie any more, you’ve reminded me that I should!

Love this post, Vivienne!! Pies, Mia’s pouches and crafting……Some of my favorite things!!
I’m a little envious of all of you UK bloggers; we won’t have the newest Downtown Abbey until 6 January 2013!!!

Something to look forward to in the New Year.

Happiest Tuesday,
