Following on from my last post I thought we could have some more sunflowers. I absolutely adore sunflowers so you’ll just have to indulge me! The little butterfly was so good at posing for me in the photo above, how brilliant is the colour of these flowers. They make you feel good just by looking at them! π
When I was thinking about this post I realised how many sunflower inspired items I have around the house.
These are just a few things I had to hand. People buy me gifts with sunflowers on them because they know I love them !
I have quite a collection of sunflower fabrics too! They got me thinking about what a nice lining they would make for a sunflower bag, which would then of course need some sunflowers to decorate it! So I set about crocheting some sunflowers. The large one is from Nicky Epstein’s Crocheted Flowers but it turned out too big for a bag, so I crocheted some smaller ones in my own design. Now all I need to do is make the bag!!
I hope the sunflowers have brought a little bit of brightness to your day!
Have a great week everyone and before I go we’ll have just one more photo!!! π

Lovely – so cheerful and bright aren’t they? I have a bunch of artificial ones on a green shelf in my kitchen – I bought them in France to go in my kitchen there which had green tiles with occasional random sunflower tiles here and ther.
Looking forward to seeing the finished bag.
Jane
Hi Jane.
France is full of sunflowers inspired gifts, very tempting when on holiday!
I’ll really have to get on with the bag now!
Have a good week. π

Cannot wait to see the bag, should brighten up even the rainiest and grayest day!
Happy week, Viv!

What a great picture! A butterfly on the sunflower! ISunflowers give me a happy and warm feeling. We just need that in our Dutch autumn rainy days.
I was so lucky to get the butterfly on the sunflower. My husband saw it from the kitchen window, told me and I ran up the garden to photograph it!! It was such a well behaved butterfly. π
Have a great week Corry & Heleen!

Ohmygoodness Vivienne, with certain you know how to bring brightness to ones day. The fabric is scrummy gorgeous, can not wait to see the bag! Crocheted sunflowers especially love the smaller ones.

Thanks for all the cheerful sunflowers – they really are gorgeous. You were clever to capture the butterfly too – they usually fly off just as I take the picture!

Thanks Helen!
As for the butterfly, I think it liked the idea of being photographed!!! π

I love sunflowers too. They were the only thing that survived here this “summer” everything else was either eaten by slugs or killed by the constant rain.

Actually these sunflowers were the results of my second set of seeds!
The first lot of sunflowers sown were eaten alive by greenfly so I had to re-sow, I was determined to have some !!!
Have a good day Emma! π

You can’t help but smile when you see a sunflower. Yep I’m doing it now sat in the attic by myself, lol.
I know Fi, that is so true! I think everybody loves them. π

Your sunny photos have brightened up a grey day here Vivienne, really beautiful, and how co operative can a butterful be! Your sunflowers have given you great inspiration for your new bag which sounds fab. You must show the finished product.
Have a peaceful evening, we’re starting the Tango tonight-LOL!! Jane x
Hi Jane
Yes I think this little butterfly wants to be a star!
Your evening sounds interesting, I hope we’re going to hear some more about that!!!

Hi Vivienne, I love the butterfly posing just for you on your gorgeous sunflowers. I have never grown them but admire them in other people’s gardens – they are always taller than me!
I hope you do make a bag for your lovely crocheted ones – but for now just enjoy the ones you have for real :0)
Val xx and a Big Lick from Bella!
Hi Val and of course Bella (x)!
They’re very easy to grow. I did have a bit of greenfly trouble this year but that was the first ever in all the years I’ve grown them. They’re not as tall as some years though, I remember one year they were all almost 12 feet tall!
Enjoy the rest of the week! π

Your sun flowers have really given me a lift on a wet day here. I used to have a sun flower kitchen, with stenciled walls and a hooked rug. Always made me smile. Now it is poppies and their seed heads. Thanks for dropping by.
Hi Alison!
I’m glad my sunflowers have lifted you! π
Sorry your weather’s not so good, it’s a lovely day here but I’m sure that’s not what you want to hear when it’s raining on you.
Just crochet some more of your lovely little pincushions and ignore the rain, maybe it’ll go away!
