Sunshine Flowers

by greenrabbitdesigns

Be warned this post contains large amounts of yellow!!!

Well we have had a sunshine week and my beautiful sunflowers are out in all their glory enjoying the amazing weather. They really are sunshine in flower form and my absolute favourite flower.

I took these photos over a number of days to capture this sunflower opening.

This is the view I get when looking out of my kitchen window, certainly makes the boring tasks more bearable looking out at this.

Have you ever seen a more happy flower!

I did warn you that there was going to be a lot of yellow!

As you can see I spent a bit of time taking photos of my sunflowers this afternoon but none takes the place of one of my favourite photos ever. I took it a couple of years ago, you can see it here. I haven’t had a photo opportunity like it this year yet, there’s still time though if this gorgeous weather continues.

You knew this was coming didn’t you!! When I finished with the camera I brought my yarn and hook outside and made two little sunflowers while enjoying the sun (and my sunflowers).

Here we are at the end of another week and almost at the end of the London Olympics too. I will be sad when they’re over they have been great and London has done an amazing job of hosting them. Well done to Team GB too for an excellent medal total and fingers crossed more to come before it’s all over.

Thank you all so much for your visits and lovely comments.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the Olympic Closing Ceremony! 🙂

Lovely sunny flower photos – reminded me of our time living in France where they grew in fields of gold! Your little crochet flowers are beautiful too. Enjoy the last days of the Olympics – it’s all going to be a bit dull next week isn’t it?! But at least we are enjoying some golden weather just now.

So bright and cheerful :0)
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics. The Velodrome has been particularly thrilling. Team GB have done a tremendous job and should be very proud of themselves.
Off on holiday to Wales tomorrow, and we can’t wait.
Wishing you a wonderful, sunny weekend, Vivienne.

Hi Vivienne, such a jolly colour yellow and you’ve got some brilliant photos of the flowers and bees. I really like the unusual petals on your crochet sunflowers. I can see you were inspired and enjoyed making those. Have a great weekend. x

I love all the yellow Vivienne and your photos are gorgeous. No wonder you have been inspired by these majestic sunflowers!!! The crocheted sunflowers are lovely too. I am a bit apprehensive about the slump after the olympics. What is there to look forward to next? We shall just have to wait and see. x

Lovely sunflowers, Vivienne, and there can never be too much of yellow! We really could use it here with our windy/rainy/cold (+7C this morning) – thank you so much for brightening my day!

We have enjoyed the games so so so much and it’ll be strange when they’ve finished, we have watched some every day. And I must say that London has been a great host and team GB has done wonderfully! Congrats!

Happy and sunny weekend!

Hi Vivienne – are sunflowers REALLY your favorite? Because even though I’m not really a “yellow person” they are my absolute favorite flower! I have DOZENS of them in our garden. A few years ago I wrote a post about a sunflower field nearby – you might like it – http://katieclairescottage.blogspot.de/2010/11/ah-sunflower.html
Your photos and flowers are gorgeous! Wishing you a sunny, lovely weekend! xo Karen PS awesome time-lapse commitment 🙂

wonderful sunflowers Vivienne – both the real ones and their perfect woolly cousins. I’ve not grown sunflowers since Amy was little and seeing your pictures makes me miss having them in the garden.
