We have lost our blue skies today, it’s cold, wet and grey but I’m surrounding myself with flowers to keep in the pre~spring frame of mind!!
These beautiful paper white narcissus are brightening the kitchen.
I have these cheerful and long~lasting Peruvian lilies on my dining room table.
And I have a window box full of pretty primula on my kitchen window sill which should last if the cats don’t sit on them!!!!
I have also been buying some gorgeous floral fabric too with dreams of some flowery bunny skirts! All the above fabrics with the exception of the crocus print came from this little Ebay shop, it has very reasonable prices and postage costs, just in case you’re in fabric buying mode!
Wishing you all a happy Wednesday and fear not we’re half~way through January now and ‘real’ spring is near! 🙂

Hi Vivienne, Youve cheered me up on this grey day with your beautiful photos, Ali
HI Vivienne, it’s SO cold at the moment. I have just got home from work and your lovely flower photos have cheered me. I can see plenty of Spring bunny dresses are being planned, what a gorgeous selection of fabrics..can I start guessing some names……..are Crocus and Daffodil in mind by any chance ;0) Keep warm,
Jane x
Beautiful flowers, Vivienne! And those fabrics will make the most wonderful bunny-clothing, I can see miss Lilac and other sweeties to be born soon! And that ebay shop you got the fabrics has some great things in there…oh my!
Happy Wednesday and sunny week!
Yours,
Mia
The paper whites are stunning. Are they scented too? My local florist usually sells those – I must remember to look out for some. I bought daffodils today at £1 per bunch, but they’ve yet to open. I’ll be glad when they do!
Hope you’re keeping warm where you are. x
Blue skies here, Vivienne but don’t worry we’ve had our fair share of gloom too. I know you and I are different on this point but I do enjoy winter. January can be a tough month but we are inching towards longer days and February is my favourite month of all for very many reasons. I so wish we could hold on to the ‘spring is just about to begin’ feeling. I cannot help thinking it all goes far too fast after that.
Real spring feels too far away today – it’s so bitterly cold here – but your wonderful flower shots certainly make it feel a step closer!
A lovely reminder spring is round the corner, I saw my first shoots at the weekend as well 🙂
Thank you for the flowery post Vivienne! I bought some tulips today to brighten up the dining room table. The fabrics look wonderful. I will go and have a peep at the shop! x
What lovely flowers, and wonderful fabrics – I cannot wait to see the flowery happy weather bunnies that will model them! Maggie.
Surrrounding yourself with flowers sounds like a good plan… January is definitely starting to drag!
What beautiful Narcissus. I wish I could afford fresh flowers in every room. They really do brighten and cheer don’t they? Your new fabrics look like a fab little Etsy find, they’re so colourful :0)

PS – sorry I’ve not visited in a while.
I was full of the pre sping mode idea, even bought some daffs for encouragement but then the blue skies went and the white stuff fell. But never mind I’m sure the blue skies will return soon. Meanwhile I’ll just buy more daffs.
Lovely picture show of your beautiful flowers.
The fabrics are very pretty too. Looking forward to the Spring parade of bunnies :0
Thanks for some flowery inspiration, Vivienne. It is snowing as I type.
Can’t wait to see some flowery bunnies!!
best wishes,
Anne

Good evening Vivienne… Your flowers are so pretty and inspiring….I’m dreaming of Spring days at the moment and filling our house with flowers is a great tonic…It’s nice to see those few extra minutes of daylight each day too…more time to craft makes me very happy!
Hope you have a great weekend,
Susan x
I’m afraid my skies are well and truly grey and the ground white now. We all need those gorgeous floral images to cheer us on!
