Sweet Peas

by greenrabbitdesigns

Sweet peas, the flowers that definitely signal summer is here!

It’s lovely to be able to go out into the garden and pick a bunch of sweet peas and usually when one bunch is over there is enough in bloom again to replace them.

I had a close look at them and got out my crochet hook and some sweet pea coloured yarn and ……….

………. crocheted some little sweet pea stems!

I then joined them together into a sweet pea corsage.

It has felt like summer here these last few days, hope it’s the same where you are! 🙂

Hi Vivienne, they are really pretty, I bet they are lovely fragrant varieties too. I like the white ones tinged with lilac. Your crochet ones are so cute.
Nice to see someone is having a bit of sun, all week it’s been grey in the afternoon and drizzling in the evening. I nearly got a cardy out tonight as it felt quite nippy.

Ooh lovely sweet peas and your crocheted ones are gorgeous too. No Summer here today, in fact I very nearly put the heating on it’s been so cold and windy recently.

Vivienne, I adore your Sweet Peas! (real ones and your corsage) You are so clever to come up with the perfect replica. I have always loved old-fashion flowers the best. Sweet peas, nasturtiums, cosmos, bachelor buttons, etc.
Check out my recent post, something new! xoRobin❤

Your sweet peas are so pretty. Both the ones from nature and the ones you so cleverly made with yarn. What a lovely corsage they make.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! How is it you keep featuring my favorite flowers? Lavender, lupines, foxglove, and now sweet peas! This is one annual flower I have managed to grow successfully from seed … a few times. But since having children, I somehow just never get around to it and because our growing season is so short, if you miss it, you miss out.

But I loved having tiny bouquets around my home – which is very small so the fragrance was detectable throughout.

Sigh. Maybe next year …

Love your crocheted ones 😉

Your sweet peas are way ahead of mine Viv. I haven’t got any flowers on them yet! Your corsage is very pretty in its sweet pea colours too. July has been quite miserable so far and not much in the way of sun. At least the long daylight hours mean that I have more time to craft as I can see what I am doing! x
