Home cooking & baking things to brighten

things to brighten

by greenrabbitdesigns

Oh my goodness, today is one of those days that reminds me why I do not like this time of year, I really don’t think it got light at all today, roll on pre-spring!!!

I have received some happy mail recently and I thought I would share it today to try and brighten your day and mine!

First up some beautiful sunflower cards sent to me all the way from Australia from my lovely Facebook friend Terry of Terry Cards. So very thoughful and so very welcome. Terry does all her own photography, you can find her on Facebook here where she shares her lovely images. Thanks Terry, sunflowers are my favourite flowers and just the tonic for a grey day.

I have shared some of Beth’s from The Linen Cat’s gorgeous makes here before, I do love her creations. When she posted these lovely birds on her blog recently, I just had to have one. Beth’s packages are always lovely to receive. You can find her fabulous work here and here.

Now another lovely package which was a joy to receive was this one from Debbie of The Crimson Rabbit. I ordered the little blue rabbit star for my daughter and the red one for me, amazing, aren’t they!! You can also find Debbie on Etsy and Facebook. Do check out Debbie’s shop to see her beautiful creations!

This is little Monty Mouse the creation of Sue McLearie of Paws by Sue McLearie. I first spotted him on Sue’s Facebook page and knew I had to have him.

Monty has been printed on to a transparent sticker so that you can place him wherever you want.

And here he is happily living in the skirting board in my craft room! Cute or what!

So hopefully I have provided you with some new places to visit and maybe tempt you away from your pennies, it happens to me all the time.

So what have I spent this dismal day doing?

Well I have baked some wheaten bread and cinnamon roll scones ( recipe can be found here).

And I have also been making my ‘Christmas Girls’, excuse the photo, blame the grimness!!!

Have a great week, fingers crossed for some more brightness!

Thanks as always for dropping in. 🙂

Take heart dear Vivienne. At the rate this year is flying past pre-Spring will be here before we know it.

It’s wonderful to see Terry’s beautiful work here on your blog. I’ve been a fan of her exquisite take on flowers for a while now. And Debbie? That lady is amazing! She is so talented in so many creative ways.

Your three festive bunnies are a pure delight and are making me feel so very excited about Christmas…even if we are still in November! 🙂

What fun and pretty packages, dear Vivienne. My Faves are Beth’s bird and the stars. It’s been quite warm here but quickly changing to rain/snow. I am getting in the Christmas mode/mood.
Here’s to more creative bunnies!!

Thank you for the new makers to check out! I particularly love Monty Mouse and what a great idea to make him a sticker for the skirting board. It reminded me of a piece by one of my favourite artists, Teun Hocks: http://www.robischongallery.com/html/Detail.asp?WorkInvNum=5971&artistname=TEUN%20HOCKS&whatpage=artist.

The light here has been very changeable over the last few weeks and when it appears, I often find myself flinging down whatever I’m working on and rushing upstairs to my favourite photography area with the camera, to grab a shot while I can. Good exercise, admittedly… 🙂

Loved popping by today and reading your post, Vivienne. I’m trying to lift my spirits after an operation. I’m supposed to be in bed recuperating, but I can’t settle myself, so thought I’d pop onto Blogger and catch up with a few of my favourite people.
Hope all is well with you.
Jill xx

love your rabbit star decorations and I really love the hanging bird, not so keen on the mouse though (although I do have a friend who would like him)

Oh V, I’m so far behind with my reading, but thank you so much for the lovely mention 🙂 That mouse sticker is GENIUS, love the idea, might have to get one for the boys to have in their room, they’d love a little mouse on the skirting and I’m off over to The Crimson Rabbit to check out Debbie’s work. Thanks for sharing! Bethxx
