I’ve spent some of the rather wet weekend doing a bit of crochet. Not sure what all these little pieces will become, some corsages, some maybe added to bags, we’ll have to wait and see. They have all been made from the same ball of yarn, it’s Kingcole Riot which is 30% wool/70% acrylic. It has a lovely feel and you get quite a good stretch of colour before it changes. There are quite a few different shades in it, I like this one as the colours are quite suitable for this time of year, dare I say the word, autumnal (I’m getting there!!). Although the weather here this morning is warm and sunny I have to admit I now can see the change in the season happening.
Now, I’ve been tagged by the lovely Lisette from HandMaid Liset and I have been asked to answer the following questions.
4 things in my bag. (sorry this is going to be very boring, nothing exciting in there)
– purse
– umbrella
– mobile phone
– tissues
4 things in my desk drawer.
– don’t have a desk!
4 favourite things in my bedroom.
– photos of my son and daughter.
– my rabbit soft toys.
– stash of yarn!!!
– my jewellery.
4 nice things at this moment.
– happy and healthy family!
– sun is shining as I write this.
– my home grown tomatoes.
– new yarns and fabric.
4 songs that keep popping into my head. (not sure if my answers are meant to be songs of the moment or my all time favourites)
– Raspberry Beret ~ Prince.
– Chocolate ~ Snow Patrol. (all Snow Patrol songs if I’m honest)
– Dog Days Are Over ~ Florence + the Machine.
– New York ~ Paloma Faith. (I could keep going I love lots of music)
4 things you didn’t know about me.
– I was awarded a Blue Peter badge.
– I’m married 29 years.
– I have brown eyes.
– I worked in a bank and left to become a mother and never went back(thank goodness for motherhood!).
Now I’m supposed to tag 4 more people but as I always do with awards/tags I’m going to offer it to anyone on my blogroll or indeed anyone reading this as I don’t want to single out 4 blogs. So please feel free to pick it up if you want to! Thanks again to Lisette for thinking about me!
Have a great week everyone!!! π

I love your crocheted flowers (may I call them flowers…?) in their lovely autumnal shades. They certainly would make wonderful corsages.
Thank you for your lovely comments in my blog. They are truly appreciated, and give me a lot of pleasure.
Yes Mia you may call them flowers and I think most of them will become corsages!
Thank you for visiting my blog and can I just say how much I enjoy your beautiful blog! π

Ohmygoodness, love the colors, I do so like warmer colors. The yarn looks so soft I could see them even as a blankie.
Have a great week!
Hugs, Dani

Love seeing how different colourways work to the ones I use. These look so lovely and autumnal Vivienne. Got to admit it I guess that we’re nearly in the autumn.

Lovely autumnal colours Vivienne but I am sure like me you are still in summer for the last few days. It is glorious here today, 24o in my sheltered garden! I enjoyed reading you blog “things about me” we have been married for the same length of time and I too LOVE Snow Patrol, you have great taste! It was my son who introduced me to them some years back and I really enjoy everything they have recorded.
Enjoy the sun, I’m just off to the 1st class this year for my silversmithing, I can’t wait it’s been too long. Will be blogging about it soon-I have my camera packed!
Take care,
Love Jane X
Hi Jane
Although it is lovely here today I think summer is sadly losing it’s grip! There is an autumn feeling in the air.
Looking forward to hearing all about your silversmithing! π

Lovely crochet flowers. They look so tactile and I love the colours. I am intriguied; what did you get the Blue Peter Badge for?!!!x
Thanks Simone!
I got my Blue Peter badge for a ‘Design an Outfit for Val’ competition, I was a runner up. I designed her a herringbone midi dress with black boots!! Do you know the really sad thing is I have no idea where my badge is now! I wish it would turn up. I’m sure you’ve guessed by my ‘design’ it was in the seventies!! π

Hi Just found you via 1crochet, lovely flowers I am searching for a book on these
Heather x
Hi Heather
I usually make my flowers up as I go along. Crochet Embellishments is a book I noticed on Amazon, it may be of some help to you!

Oh my goodness these crochet flowers are just dreamy!
I’m seeing a craze for crochet flowers all over blogland at the moment but it seems you were way ahead of the game.
I’m not much of a crocheter but would love to have a go. Is it a purchased pattern or one of your own originals?
I’m loving your blog and working my way backwards. So much yummy eye candy.
Margaret
