I love of flowers!

This statement will come as no surprise to those of you who visit here regularly but it’s not just garden flowers, I love wildflowers too!

During the summer I have been photographing wildflowers wherever I found myself ~ country lanes, seaside, park!

Looking back at the photos I do wonder where the summer has gone. Some of these photos I took over 2 months ago and yet it only seems such a short time ago.

Just some of the many flowers I’ve photographed during the summer and lovely to see that it didn’t rain all the time!

I have lots of books on wildflowers too, some of them from my childhood. One of them is the Ladybird Book of British Wildflowers, the one above though isn’t my original one it’s another one I picked up a little while ago in a secondhand book shop.

Why did I want a second one??

Well I wanted it so that I could send it to the very clever Fee to work her magic and make me these beautiful blocks ………………………

Aren’t they brilliant??

I think I’m right in saying that Fee enjoys a commission, her blocks are also available from her shop.

Her work is amazing!!

I don’t suppose there will be many more opportunities for sunny wildflower photos from now on, at least I have my blocks to look at!

The air is definitely a lot cooler but at least the sun shone today, let’s hope it continues to do so over the weekend.

Happy weekend and as always thanks for visiting! 🙂

Oh your new blocks are amazing! I’m not sure why but I was amazed to see some of the same wildflowers that grow here in your photos – silly.
There is nothing like a curbside bouquet 🙂

Vivienne, this is such a drop-dead-gorgous post. Your photos alone merit this title. I completely agree with you; Wayside flowers are beautiful too. I spend every day casting my eye over the vineyards, etc to see which flowers have sprung up overnight. There is such an abundace as your pictures testify. Funnily enough I am putting the finishing touches on a Meadow Hare for a lovely Scottish lady and so I’ve had wildflowers more on the brain than ever.

Fee’s blocks are, of course, the creme de la creme of this post. What a splendid commission and what beauty to gaze at over the next few months. Are you a little apprehensive of what’s to come too?

I, too, love wildflowers and we regularly take a book out with us on our country walks so we can learn a little more. I love trees as well.
Fee’s blocks are beautiful, what a lovely reminder!
Happy weekend xox

Wonderful photos Vivienne, seeing wildflowers close-up like this makes you realise how lovely they are, and how we take them for granted.
I love the blocks Fee made for you, they’re marvellous, and look stunning photographed with the pretty posy.
Have a great weekend!

Your Ladybird book wild flower blocks by Fee are sooo beautiful, Vivienne!! So are your photos of the individual flowers. I have always loved wildflowers too, I used to draw them all the time as part of my work….and I still love the surprise of discovering different ones when out walking in the countryside 🙂
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

I like wildflowers too and sometimes dare I say it ‘decorative weeds’! Really like the snakesheads. I think the wood blocks look fabulous and a very unusual craft by Fee. Have a good weekend Vivienne x

Happy, happy pictures, Vivienne, so full of sunshine and summer! We have so many orange-yellow-brown leaves flying around already that… It’s A here, unfortunately! So your flowery post made me smile, and those blocks are just so perfect for you, you summer-girl!

Happy weekend!

Summer in all her glory, and how lovely to get a last glimpse of her here as the year turns.

Love the blocks! Isn’t Fee just the best person to commission 😀

I love wildflowers, too. Lovely blocks–now you’ll have a bit of summer year round.
Thanks for sharing your flowers. It is cooler here & fun to see “more” of summer.

Fantastic close ups Vivienne. I too am a wildflower fan! The wildflowers look pretty good on blocks too! x

Beautiful photos, Vivienne, and the blocks are a brilliant idea!I have dozens of summer flower photos in my files that I haven’t used on my blog yet… Wild or planted, they are all lovely, aren’t they. I leave the dandelions and daisies in my lawn and every time I walk through the forest I fall in love with the foxgloves and wild roses again! xo Karen
