Home colour yellow

The fields of oilseed rape are in full bloom at the moment and I have to say they are quite spectacular, the road that this field is on has fields of the crop on both sides and the colour is quite breath taking.

The smell of the crop is not quite as nice as the colour though, it has a strange scent and I have to say I’m quite glad I don’t live beside the fields.

I am a big fan of the oil that it produces though and as a vegetarian I think it makes the best roast potatoes!

Lots of yellow in the garden too, which is just as well as the skies are still grey!!

I found plenty of yellow in my latest park walk too.

So why so much yellow today, well over on Facebook this week the lovely Emma of Hole House has been having a rainbow week with each colour of the rainbow being featured on a different day. I was asked if I would like to join in and as much as I would have loved to have had something for each day, that wasn’t possible so I picked Wednesday which was ‘yellow day’ as I have had a little girl that I wanted to make in my head for a while now and this was her time!

I’d like you all to meet Suzie Sunshine!!

If you’re on Facebook why not pop over to Emma’s page and join in rainbow week, everyone is welcome.

So if you are like us and the sun has been missing for a day or two I hope this has brought a little brightness to your day!

🙂 Happy Yellow Wednesday!!! 🙂

I am never quite sure about oil seed rape – it seems a bit of an outsider in the views here of England’s green and pleasant land, a bit too vivid amongst all that green. But there is no disputing that it does give a bit of sunshine yellow to a grey day as will you little bunny.

what a beautiful sunny post on this cold showery day. I cant believe how quick you are making the bunnies and Susie is so cute!……..I wonder what the next one will be called and be inspired by.

Lovely to find lots of yellow sunshiney colours Vivienne, so many beautiful yellow flowers. The sun has shown its face a little here today but it’s all down hill from now for the next few days I fear.
Sunshine is such a pretty bunny, just what’s needed to feast our eyes on at the moment! I like how you often get your bunny inspirations from nature!
What next??!!
Enjoy what’s left of the week!

I do have to say Vivienne, I am not at all familiar with oil seed rape. In fact, I have never heard of it, but it sure looks beautiful in the fields, along with sweet “Suzie Sunshine”!
Great yellow post, xoRobin

In the part of the Netherlands where I live we have also big fields with yellow oilseed plants. Your lovely photo could be made here. Almost . Because our fields are flat, flat as flat can be and you can look to the horizon.. Hartelijke groeten, Beerta

Next to blue yellow is my favourite colour Vivienne. Your photos are stunning and yes the rape seed fields are extraordinary at the moment aren’t they. What a lovely idea to have a rainbow week and your new bunny is a little ray of sunshine. It’s not been too bad here today, some sharp showers but plenty of sunshine in between. I’m seeing another ray of sunshine tomorrow…my Daisy and her lovely mummy ;0) Another week has almost flashed by. Take care xx

I definitely need that splash of Sunshine this morning – it’s tipping it down, I’ve just got home from walking Violet to school and I’m drenched.
I must say that I’m not a fan of the smell of Rape Seed either, nor the little black beetles that seem to be so attracted to it (and me also, if i get too close).
A big hello the little Miss Suzie – let’s hope she brightens up our skies :0)

Snap, those rapeseed fields are exactly like the ones here, in full bloom currently, almost too yellow against the gloomy sky and that weird smell. It’s a heady scent like dandelions and gives me headache if I sniff it too much. But yes I just love the oil too. Lovely Sunshine bunny V xx

O!! what a lovely colour, yellow everywhere I love it. Suzie Sunshine with cute little buttons and beautiful white cardigan. Just made my day. Here it was cold with a little sunshine. Thank you Vivienne for the photos of the flowers. Our little grand daughter likes to see the bunnies and thinks it is great that I have Pixie she just looks but does not touch it. Have a good weekend. Love and Blessing. Elizabeth x x

OH MY GOD!!!!! How sweet is this bunny?!?!?!?! Aaaawwww!!!!! 🙂

Simone May 8, 2014 - 5:21 pm

I love Susie Sunshine! She is in my top ten!!! The vibrant yellow of the rapeseed field certainly lifts a grey, dull day. Rapeseed oil is said to be good in bread making too – must try it for roast potatoes now! x

So lovely and cheery yellow. Suzie looks full of cheer and sunshine herself. I wish you could see my face when I looked at the very last 2 flower photos. We have the same wildflower here—-Marsh marigold. What do you call it??!!
Here’s to more sunshine and creative days, dear Vivienne.
